[clang][Darwin] Remove legacy framework search path logic in the frontend (#138234)
Move the Darwin framework search path logic from
InitHeaderSearch::AddDefaultIncludePaths to
DarwinClang::AddClangSystemIncludeArgs. Add a new -internal-iframework
cc1 argument to support the tool chain adding these paths.
Now that the tool chain is adding search paths via cc1 flag, they're
only added if they exist, so the Preprocessor/cuda-macos-includes.cu
test is no longer relevant.
Change Driver/driverkit-path.c and Driver/darwin-subframeworks.c to do
-### style testing similar to the darwin-header-search and
darwin-embedded-search-paths tests. Rename darwin-subframeworks.c to
darwin-framework-search-paths.c and have it test all framework search
paths, not just SubFrameworks.
Add a unit test to validate that the myriad of search path flags result
in the expected search path list.

fafa48e7b5 [AIX][clang][driver] Check the command string to the linker for exportlist opts
Summary:
Some of code in the patch are contributed by David Tenty.

1. We currently only check driver Wl options and don't check for the plain -b, -Xlinker or other options which get passed through to the linker when we decide whether to run llvm-nm --export-symbols, so we may run it in situations where we wouldn't if the user had used the equivalent -Wl, prefixed options. If we run the export list utility when the user has specified an export list, we could export more symbols than they intended.
2. Add a new functionality to allow redirecting the stdin, stdout, stderr of individual Jobs, if redirects are set for the Job use them, otherwise fall back to the global Compilation redirects if any.

4772b99dff Clang Driver: refactor support for writing response files to be

This resolves the hack I just added to allow Darwin toolchain to vary

Some tools look likely to be declaring that they don't support
response files in error, however I kept them as-is in order for this
change to be a simple refactoring.

20f1abe306 [Clang] Limit -fintegrated-cc1 to only one TU
As discussed in https://reviews.llvm.org/D74447, this patch disables integrated-cc1 behavior if there's more than one job to be executed. This is meant to limit memory bloating, given that currently jobs don't clean up after execution (-disable-free is always active in cc1 mode).

I see this behavior as temporary until release 10.0 ships (to ease merging of this patch), then we'll reevaluate the situation, see if D74447 makes more sense on the long term.

b4a99a061f [Clang][Driver] Re-use the calling process instead of creating a new process for the cc1 invocation
With this patch, the clang tool will now call the -cc1 invocation directly inside the same process. Previously, the -cc1 invocation was creating, and waiting for, a new process.
This patch therefore reduces the number of created processes during a build, thus it reduces build times on platforms where process creation can be costly (Windows) and/or impacted by a antivirus.
It also makes debugging a bit easier, as there's no need to attach to the secondary -cc1 process anymore, breakpoints will be hit inside the same process.

Crashes or signaling inside the -cc1 invocation will have the same side-effect as before, and will be reported through the same means.

This behavior can be controlled at compile-time through the CLANG_SPAWN_CC1 cmake flag, which defaults to OFF. Setting it to ON will revert to the previous behavior, where any -cc1 invocation will create/fork a secondary process.
At run-time, it is also possible to tweak the CLANG_SPAWN_CC1 environment variable. Setting it and will override the compile-time setting. A value of 0 calls -cc1 inside the calling process; a value of 1 will create a secondary process, as before.

2946cd7010 Update the file headers across all of the LLVM projects in the monorepo
to reflect the new license.

We understand that people may be surprised that we're moving the header
entirely to discuss the new license. We checked this carefully with the
Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

This happened during a recent refactor. toStringRefArray() returns

08426e1f9f Refactor ExecuteAndWait to take StringRefs.
This simplifies some code which had StringRefs to begin with, and
makes other code more complicated which had const char* to begin
with.

In the end, I think this makes for a more idiomatic and platform
agnostic API. Not all platforms launch process with null terminated
c-string arrays for the environment pointer and argv, but the api
was designed that way because it allowed easy pass-through for
posix-based platforms. There's a little additional overhead now
since on posix based platforms we'll be takign StringRefs which
were constructed from null terminated strings and then copying
them to null terminate them again, but from a readability and
usability standpoint of the API user, I think this API signature
is strictly better.

90161dad75 Try to shorten system header paths when using -MD depfiles
GCC tries to shorten system headers in depfiles using its real path
(resolving components like ".." and following symlinks). Mimic this
feature to ensure that the Ninja build tool detects the correct
dependencies when a symlink changes directory levels, see
https://github.com/ninja-build/ninja/issues/1330

An option to disable this feature is added in case "these changed header
paths may conflict with some compilation environments", see
https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2012-09/msg00287.html

Note that the original feature request for GCC
(https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=52974) also included paths
preprocessed output (-E) and diagnostics. That is not implemented now
since I am not sure if it breaks something else.

a0f96be9b1 [clang-cl] Fix cross-compilation with MSVC 2017.
clang-cl works best when the user runs vcvarsall to set up
an environment before running, but even this is not enough
on VC 2017 when cross compiling (e.g. using an x64 toolchain
to target x86, or vice versa).

The reason is that although clang-cl itself will have a
valid environment, it will shell out to other tools (such
as link.exe) which may not. Generally we solve this through
adding the appropriate linker flags, but this is not enough
in VC 2017.

The cross-linker and the regular linker both link against
some common DLLs, but these DLLs live in the binary directory
of the native linker. When setting up a cross-compilation
environment through vcvarsall, it will add *both* directories
to %PATH%, so that when cl shells out to any of the associated
tools, those tools will be able to find all of the dependencies
that it links against. If you don't do this, link.exe will
fail to run because the loader won't be able to find all of
the required DLLs that it links against.

To solve this we teach the driver how to spawn a process with
an explicitly specified environment. Then we modify the
PATH before shelling out to subtools and run with the modified
PATH.
