Warn on misuse of DiagnosticInfo classes that hold Twines (#137397)
This annotates the `Twine` passed to the constructors of the various
DiagnosticInfo subclasses with `[[clang::lifetimebound]]`, which causes
us to warn when we would try to print the twine after it had already
been destructed.

We also update `DiagnosticInfoUnsupported` to hold a `const Twine &`
like all of the other DiagnosticInfo classes, since this warning allows
us to clean up all of the places where it was being used incorrectly.

compiler-specific build failures.

[IR] Store Triple in Module (NFC) (#129868)
The module currently stores the target triple as a string. This means
that any code that wants to actually use the triple first has to
instantiate a Triple, which is somewhat expensive. The change in #121652
caused a moderate compile-time regression due to this. While it would be
easy enough to work around, I think that architecturally, it makes more
sense to store the parsed Triple in the module, so that it can always be
directly queried.

For this change, I've opted not to add any magic conversions between
std::string and Triple for backwards-compatibilty purses, and instead
write out needed Triple()s or str()s explicitly. This is because I think
a decent number of them should be changed to work on Triple as well, to
avoid unnecessary conversions back and forth.

The only interesting part in this patch is that the default triple is
Triple("") instead of Triple() to preserve existing behavior. The former
defaults to using the ELF object format instead of unknown object
format. We should fix that as well.

[LTO] enable ObjCARCContractPass only on optimized build (#101114)
\#92331 tried to make `ObjCARCContractPass` by default, but it caused a

This patch trys to bring that back by:

2. `createObjCARCContractPass` only on optimized builds.

Run ObjCContractPass in Default Codegen Pipeline (#92331)
Prior to this patch, when using -fthinlto-index= the ObjCARCContractPass isn't run prior to CodeGen, and instruction selection fails on IR containing arc intrinsics. This patch is motivated by that usecase.

The pass was previously added in various places codegen is performed. This patch adds the pass to the default codegen pipepline, makes sure it bails immediately if no arc intrinsics are found, and removes the adhoc scheduling of the pass.

[LTO] Reset DiscardValueNames in optimize(). (#78705)
libLTO parses options late, so at the moment the option is ignored. To
fix that, re-set it in optimize(), as at this point the options have been
parsed. When LTOCodeGenerator's constructor executes, the options
haven't been parsed by the linker to libLTO yet.

Note that we keep the value name of `%add = add..` because when the
module is imported, DiscardValueNames is still set to false (the default
when building with assertions).

I tried to improve this in libLTO, but I am not sure if there's a
suitable callback when all options have been set.

272bd6f9cc [WPD][LLD] Add option to validate RTTI is enabled on all native types and prevent devirtualization on types with native RTTI
Discussion about this approach: https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-safer-whole-program-class-hierarchy-analysis/65144/18

When enabling WPD in an environment where native binaries are present, types we want to optimize can be derived from inside these native files and devirtualizing them can lead to correctness issues. RTTI can be used as a way to determine all such types in native files and exclude them from WPD providing a safe checked way to enable WPD.

The approach is:
1. In the linker, identify if RTTI is available for all native types. If not, under `--lto-validate-all-vtables-have-type-infos` `--lto-whole-program-visibility` is automatically disabled. This is done by examining all .symtab symbols in object files and .dynsym symbols in DSOs for vtable (_ZTV) and typeinfo (_ZTI) symbols and ensuring there's always a match for every vtable symbol.
2. During thinlink, if `--lto-validate-all-vtables-have-type-infos` is set and RTTI is available for all native types, identify all typename (_ZTS) symbols via their corresponding typeinfo (_ZTI) symbols that are used natively or outside of our summary and exclude them from WPD.

Testing:
ninja check-all
large Meta service that uses boost, glog and libstdc++.so runs successfully with WPD via --lto-whole-program-visibility. Previously, native types in boost caused incorrect devirtualization that led to crashes.

41447f6fdf [libLTO][AIX] Respect -f[no]-integrated-as on AIX
`libLTO` currently ignores the `-f[no-]integrated-as` flags. This patch teaches `libLTO` to respect them on AIX.

The implementation consists of two parts:

  # Migrate `llc`'s `-no-integrated-as` option to a codegen option so that the option is available to `libLTO`/`lld`/`gold`.
  # Teach `clang` to pass `-no-integrated-as` accordingly to `libLTO` depending on the `-f[no-]integrated-as` flags.

On platforms other than AIX, the `-f[no-]integrated-as` flags are ignored.

8de9f2b558 Move SubtargetFeature.h from MC to TargetParser
SubtargetFeature.h is currently part of MC while it doesn't depend on
anything in MC. Since some LLVM components might have the need to work
with target features without necessarily needing MC, it might be
worthwhile to move SubtargetFeature.h to a different location. This will
reduce the dependencies of said components.

Note that I choose TargetParser as the destination because that's where
Triple lives and SubtargetFeatures feels related to that.

This issues came up during a JITLink review (D149522). JITLink would
like to avoid a dependency on MC while still needing to store target
features.

200cc952a2 [LTO][GlobalDCE] Use pass parameter instead of module flag for LTO phase
D63932 added a module flag to indicate that we are executing the regular
LTO post merge pipeline, so that GlobalDCE could perform more aggressive
optimization for Dead Virtual Function Elimination. This caused issues
trying to reuse bitcode that had already been through the LTO pipeline
(see context in D139816).

Instead support this by passing down a parameter flag to the
GlobalDCEPass constructor, which is the more usual way for indicating
this information.

Most test changes are to remove incidental uses of this flag. Of the 2
real uses, llvm/test/LTO/ARM/lto-linking-metadata.ll is now obsolete and
removed in this patch, and the virtual-functions-visibility-post-lto.ll
test is updated to use the regular LTO default pipeline where this
parameter is set to true.

531ed6d5aa [LTO][COFF] Use bitcode file names in lto native object file names.
Currently the lto native object files have names like main.exe.lto.1.obj. In
PDB, those names are used as names for each compiland. Microsoft’s tool
SizeBench uses those names to present to users the size of each object files.
So, names like main.exe.lto.1.obj is not user friendly.

This patch makes the lto native object file names more readable by using
the bitcode file names as part of the file names. For example, if the input
bitcode file has path like "path/to/foo.obj", its corresponding lto native
object file path would be "path/to/main.exe.lto.foo.obj". Since the lto native
object file name only bothers PDB, this patch only changes the lld-linker's
behavior.

2eade1dba4 [WPD] Use new llvm.public.type.test intrinsic for potentially publicly visible classes
Turning on opaque pointers has uncovered an issue with WPD where we currently pattern match away `assume(type.test)` in WPD so that a later LTT doesn't resolve the type test to undef and introduce an `assume(false)`. The pattern matching can fail in cases where we transform two `assume(type.test)`s into `assume(phi(type.test.1, type.test.2))`.

Currently we create `assume(type.test)` for all virtual calls that might be devirtualized. This is to support `-Wl,--lto-whole-program-visibility`.

To prevent this, all virtual calls that may not be in the same LTO module instead use a new `llvm.public.type.test` intrinsic in place of the `llvm.type.test`. Then when we know if `-Wl,--lto-whole-program-visibility` is passed or not, we can either replace all `llvm.public.type.test` with `llvm.type.test`, or replace all `llvm.public.type.test` with `true`. This prevents WPD from trying to pattern match away `assume(type.test)` for public virtual calls when failing the pattern matching will result in miscompiles.

far as I can tell, nothing in the CMake build sets LLVM_VERSION_INFO. It

89b57061f7 Move TargetRegistry.(h|cpp) from Support to MC
This moves the registry higher in the LLVM library dependency stack.
Every client of the target registry needs to link against MC anyway to
actually use the target, so we might as well move this out of Support.

This allows us to ensure that Support doesn't have includes from MC/*.

563cdeaafd [LTO][Legacy] Decouple option parsing from LTOCodeGenerator
in this patch we add a new libLTO API to specify debug options independent of an lto_code_gen_t.
This allows clients to pass codegen flags (through libLTO) which otherwise today are ignored.

c83cd8feef [NFC] Reordering parameters in getFile and getFileOrSTDIN
In future patches I will be setting the IsText parameter frequently so I will refactor the args to be in the following order. I have removed the FileSize parameter because it is never used.

```
  static ErrorOr<std::unique_ptr<MemoryBuffer>>
  getFile(const Twine &Filename, bool IsText = false,
          bool RequiresNullTerminator = true, bool IsVolatile = false);
  static ErrorOr<std::unique_ptr<MemoryBuffer>>
  getFileOrSTDIN(const Twine &Filename, bool IsText = false,
                 bool RequiresNullTerminator = true);
 static ErrorOr<std::unique_ptr<MB>>
 getFileAux(const Twine &Filename, uint64_t MapSize, uint64_t Offset,
            bool IsText, bool RequiresNullTerminator, bool IsVolatile);
  static ErrorOr<std::unique_ptr<WritableMemoryBuffer>>
  getFile(const Twine &Filename, bool IsVolatile = false);
