[llvm] Remove uses of %T in tests (#151621)
This patch removes all uses of %T from within LLVM tests. %T has been
deprecated for about seven years and use is not advised given it is not
unique per test and can thus lead to races. The goal of this is to
eventually remove support for %T from lit.

[llvm][mlir][NFC] Fix typos in comments and test descriptions (#139688)
This patch fixes several typographical errors in comments and test
files:

1. Corrected "achive" to "archive" in archive-update.test. 
2. Fixed "achive" to "achieve" in a comment in
XeGPUSubgroupDistribute.cpp.
3. Corrected "achived" to "achieved" in a test note in
SimpleSIVNoValidityCheckFixedSize.ll.

These changes are non-functional and intended to improve readability and
documentation accuracy.

[AMDGPU][NFC] Replace gfx940 and gfx941 with gfx942 in llvm/test (#125711)
[AMDGPU][NFC] Replace gfx940 and gfx941 with gfx942 in llvm/test

gfx940 and gfx941 are no longer supported. This is one of a series of PRs to remove them from the code base.

This PR uses gfx942 instead of gfx940 and gfx941 in the test RUN-lines (unless there is already a RUN-line for gfx942).

The only notable difference in the test output is that gfx942 does not force the use of sc0 and sc1 on stores while gfx940 and gfx941 do (cf. https://reviews.llvm.org/D149986).

Reland [LLD] [COFF] Fix linking MSVC generated implib header objects (#123916)
ecb5ea6a266d5cc4e05252f6db4c73613b73cc3b tried to fix cases when LLD
links what seems to be import library header objects from MSVC. However,
the fix seems incorrect; the review at https://reviews.llvm.org/D133627
concluded that if this (treating this kind of symbol as a common symbol)
is what link.exe does, it's fine.

However, this is most probably not what link.exe does. The symbol
mentioned in the commit message of
ecb5ea6a266d5cc4e05252f6db4c73613b73cc3b would be a common symbol with a
size of around 3 GB; this is not what might have been intended.

That commit tried to avoid running into the error ".idata$4 should not
refer to special section 0"; that issue is fixed for a similar style of
section symbols in 4a4a8a1476b1386b523dc5b292ba9a5a6748a9cf.

Therefore, revert ecb5ea6a266d5cc4e05252f6db4c73613b73cc3b and extend
the fix from 4a4a8a1476b1386b523dc5b292ba9a5a6748a9cf to also work for
the section symbols in MSVC generated import libraries.

The main detail about them, is that for symbols of type
IMAGE_SYM_CLASS_SECTION, the Value field is not an offset, but it is an
optional set of flags, corresponding to the Characteristics of the
section header (although it may be empty).

This is a reland of a previous version of this commit, earlier merged in
9457418e66766d8fafc81f85eb8045986220ca3e / #122811. The previous version
failed tests when run with address sanitizer. The issue was that the
synthesized coff_symbol_generic object actually will be used to access a
full coff_symbol16 or coff_symbol32 struct, see
DefinedCOFF::getCOFFSymbol. Therefore, we need to make a copy of the
full size of either of them.

[WebAssembly][Object] Support more elem segment flags (#123427)
Some tools (e.g. Rust tooling) produce element segment descriptors with
neither
elemkind or element type descriptors, but with init exprs instead of
func indices
(this is with the flags value of 4 in

https://webassembly.github.io/spec/core/binary/modules.html#element-section).
LLVM doesn't fully model reference types or the various ways to
initialize element
segments, but we do want to correctly parse and skip over all type
sections, so
this change updates the object parser to handle that case, and refactors
for more
clarity.

The test file is updated to include one additional elem segment with a
flags value
of 4, an initializer value of (32.const 0) and an empty vector. 

Also support parsing files that export imported (undefined) functions.

Object: Don't error out on malformed bitcode files.
An error reading a bitcode file most likely indicates that the file
was created by a compiler from the future. Normally we don't try to
implement forwards compatibility for bitcode files, but when creating
an archive we can implement best-effort forwards compatibility by
treating the file as a blob and not creating symbol index entries for
it. lld and mold ignore the archive symbol index, so provided that
you use one of these linkers, LTO will work as long as lld or the
gold plugin is newer than the compiler. We only ignore errors if the
archive format is one that is supported by a linker that is known to
ignore the index, otherwise there's no chance of this working so we
may as well error out. We print a warning on read failure so that
users of linkers that rely on the symbol index can diagnose the issue.

This is the same behavior as GNU ar when the linker plugin returns
an error when reading the input file. If the bitcode file is actually
malformed, it will be diagnosed at link time.

[MachO] Stop parsing past end of rebase/bind table (#93897)
`MachORebaseEntry::moveNext()` and `MachOBindEntry::moveNext()` assume
that the rebase/bind table ends with `{REBASE|BIND}_OPCODE_DONE` or an
actual rebase/bind. However a valid rebase/bind table might also end
with other effectively no-op opcodes, which caused the parser to move
past the end and go into the next table, resulting in corrupted entries
or infinite loops.

[llvm][MachO] Fix integer truncation in rebase/bind parsing (#89337)
`Count` and `Skip` should use `uint64_t` as they are encoded/decoded
using 64-bit ULEB128.

In `*_OPCODE_DO_*_ULEB_TIMES_SKIPPING_ULEB`, `Skip` could be encoded as
a two's complement for moving `SegmentOffset` backwards. Having a 32-bit
`Skip` truncates the encoded value and leads to a malformed
`AdvanceAmount`
and invalid `SegmentOffset` that extends past valid sections.

Mark test cases as unsupported on z/OS (#90990)
These test cases are testing features not available when either
targeting the s390x-ibm-zos target or use tools/features not available
on the z/OS operating system. In a couple cases the lit test had a
number of subtests with one or two that aren't supported on z/OS. Rather
than mark the entire test as unsupported I split out the unsupported
tests into a separate test case.

[AMDGPU] Introduce GFX9/10.1/10.3/11 Generic Targets (#76955)
These generic targets include multiple GPUs and will, in the future,
provide a way to build once and run on multiple GPU, at the cost of less
optimization opportunities.

Note that this is just doing the compiler side of things, device libs an
runtimes/loader/etc. don't know about these targets yet, so none of them
actually work in practice right now. This is just the initial commit to
make LLVM aware of them.

This contains the documentation changes for both this change and #76954
as well.

[Object][Wasm] Generate symbol info from name section names (#81063)
Currently symbol info is generated from a linking section or from export
names. This PR generates symbols in a WasmObjectFile from the name
section as well, which allows tools like objdump and nm to show useful
information for more linked binaries. There are some limitations:
most notably that we don't assume any particular ABI, so we don't get
detailed information about data symbols if the segments are merged
(which is the default).

[Object][Wasm] Allow parsing of GC types in type and table sections (#79235)
This change allows a WasmObjectFile to be created from a wasm file even 
if it uses typed funcrefs and GC types. It does not significantly change how 
lib/Object models its various internal types (e.g. WasmSignature,
WasmElemSegment), so LLVM does not really "support" or understand such
files, but it is sufficient to parse the type, global and element sections, discarding
types that are not understood. This is useful for low-level binary tools such as
nm and objcopy, which use only limited aspects of the binary (such as function
definitions) or deal with sections as opaque blobs.

This is done by allowing `WasmValType` to have a value of `OTHERREF`
(representing any unmodeled reference type), and adding a field to
`WasmSignature` indicating it's a placeholder for an unmodeled reference 
type (since there is a 1:1 correspondence between WasmSignature objects
and types in the type section).
Then the object file parsers for the type and element sections are expanded
to parse encoded reference types and discard any unmodeled fields.

8545093715 [obj2yaml] Emit ProgramHeader.Offset
Currently, obj2yaml doesn't emit the offset of program headers, leaving
it to yaml2obj to calculate offsets based on `FirstSec` and `LastSec`.
This causes an obj2yaml->yaml2obj round trip to often produce an ELF
file that is not equivalent to the original, especially since it seems
common to have program headers at offset 0 whose first section starts at
a higher address. Besides being non-equivalent, the produced ELF files
also do not seem to work propery and readelf complains about them.

Taking a simple hello world program in C, compiled using either GCC or
Clang, the original ELF file has the following program headers (only
showing some relevant ones):

Note that the offset of segment 2 changed from 0x0 to 0x318. This has
two effects:
- readelf complains "Error: the PHDR segment is not covered by a LOAD
  segment" since PHDR was originally covered by segment 2 but not
  anymore;
- Segment 2 effectively became empty according to the section to segment
  mapping.

I addition to these, the output doesn't correctly execute anymore,
crashing with a "SIGSEGV (Address boundary error)".

This patch fixes the difference in program header layout after a round
trip by explicitly emitting offsets.

252c42354e [test] Change llvm-mc -arch= to -triple=
The issue is uncovered by #47698: for assembly files, -triple= specifies the
full target triple while -arch= merely sets the architecture part of the default
target triple, leaving a target triple which may not make sense, e.g.
riscv64-apple-darwin.

Therefore, -arch= is error-prone and not recommended for tests. The issue has
been benign as we recognize $unknown-apple-darwin as ELF instead of rejecting it
outrightly.

Due to the nature of the issue, we don't see the issue in tests using
architectures that any of Mach-O/COFF/XCOFF supports.

Global Symbol Tables

Immediately following the member table, the archive file contains two global symbol tables. The first global symbol table locates 32-bit file members that define global symbols; the second global symbol table does the same for 64-bit file members. If the archive has no 32-bit or 64-bit file members, the respective global symbol table is omitted. The strip command can be used to delete one or both global symbol tables from the archive. The fl_gstoff field in the fixed-length header contains the offset to the 32-bit global symbol table, and the fl_gst64off contains the offset to the 64-bit global symbol table.

[NFC][Py Reformat] Reformat lit.local.cfg python files in llvm
This is a follow-up to b71edfaa4ec3c998aadb35255ce2f60bba2940b0
since I forgot the lit.local.cfg files in that one.

Reformatting is done with `black`.

If you end up having problems merging this commit because you
have made changes to a python file, the best way to handle that
is to run git checkout --ours <yourfile> and then reformat it
with black.

c0d9e5a0a4 Reland [AIX][BigArchive] Treat the archive is empty if the first child member offset is zero
If the archive contains free list and contains no member file, the buffer length doesn't equal to length of the header.

bc85cf1687 [TextAPI] Add support for TBDv5 Files to nm & tapi-diff
This includes handling of new attributes for symbols & rpath.
In the event that an older format file is compared to tbd_v5, ignore these new attributes.

the currently understood fields within the internal structure
`InterfaceFile`.

[TextAPI] Implement TBDv5 Reader

    Introduce initial reader for TBDv5 which is in JSON. This captures all

The archive is generated via
```
touch foo.c
ar crus libfoo.a foo.c
ar d libfoo.a foo.c
```
Thus it contains free list.

75cdab6dc2 [llvm-objdump] Add --no-print-imm-hex to tests depending on it.
This prepares for an upcoming change to make --print-imm-hex the default
behavior of llvm-objdump. These tests were updated in a semi-automatic
fashion.
