Be more consistent in the naming convention for the various RET instructions to specify in terms of bitwidth.

Mostly this fixes cases where !noalias or !alias.scope were passed
a scope rather than a scope list. In some cases I opted to drop
the metadata entirely instead, because it is not really relevant
to the test.
This will currently accept the old number of bytes syntax, and convert
it to a scalar. This should be removed in the near future (I think I
converted all of the tests already, but likely missed a few).
Not sure what the exact syntax and policy should be. We can continue
printing the number of bytes for non-generic instructions to avoid
test churn and only allow non-scalar types for generic instructions.
This will currently print the LLT in parentheses, but accept parsing
the existing integers and implicitly converting to scalar. The
parentheses are a bit ugly, but the parser logic seems unable to deal
without either parentheses or some keyword to indicate the start of a
type.
Memory operands store a base alignment that does not factor in
the effect of the offset on the alignment.
Previously the printing code only printed the base alignment if
it was different than the size. If there is an offset, the reader
would need to figure out the effective alignment themselves. This
has confused me before and someone else was recently confused on
IRC.
This patch prints the possibly offset adjusted alignment if it is
different than the size. And prints the base alignment if it is
different than the alignment. The MIR parser has been updated to
read basealign in addition to align.

This patch adds MXCSR as a reserved physical register and models its use
by X86 SSE instructions. It also adds flag "mayRaiseFPException" for the
instructions that possibly can raise FP exception according to the
architecture definition.
Following what SystemZ and other targets does, only the current rounding
modes and the IEEE exception masks are modeled. *Changes* of the MXCSR
due to exceptions are not modeled.

Rename the old versions that use FR32/FR64 to MOVSSrm_alt/MOVSDrm_alt.
Use the new versions in patterns that previously used a COPY_TO_REGCLASS
to VR128. These patterns expect the upper bits to be zero. The
current set up appears to work, but I'm not sure we should be
enforcing upper bits being zero through a COPY_TO_REGCLASS.
I wanted to flip the arrangement and use a COPY_TO_REGCLASS to
FR32/FR64 for the patterns that need an f32/f64 result, but that
complicated fastisel and globalisel.
I've been doing some experiments with reducing some isel patterns
and ended up in a situation where I had a
(SUBREG_TO_REG (COPY_TO_RECLASS (VMOVSSrm), VR128)) and our
post-isel peephole was unable to avoid using an instruction for
the SUBREG_TO_REG due to the COPY_TO_REGCLASS. Having a VR128
instruction removes the COPY_TO_REGCLASS that was breaking this.
llvm-svn: 363643
Summary:
This avoids needing an isel pattern for each condition code. And it removes translation switches for converting between Jcc instructions and condition codes.
Now the printer, encoder and disassembler take care of converting the immediate. We use InstAliases to handle the assembly matching. But we print using the asm string in the instruction definition. The instruction itself is marked IsCodeGenOnly=1 to hide it from the assembly parser.

llvm-svn: 357802
Summary:
FPCW contains the rounding mode control which we manipulate to implement fp to integer conversion by changing the roudning mode, storing the value to the stack, and then changing the rounding mode back. Because we didn't model FPCW and its dependency chain, other instructions could be scheduled into the middle of the sequence.
This patch introduces the register and adds it as an implciit def of FLDCW and implicit use of the FP binary arithmetic instructions and store instructions. There are more instructions that need to be updated, but this is a good start. I believe this fixes at least the reduced test case from PR40529.

1. Change the software pipeliner to use unknown size instead of dropping

did not handle it correctly.
2. Recognize UnknownSize in MachineInstr::mayAlias.

In preparation for adding support for named vregs we are changing the sigil for
physical registers in MIR to '$' from '%'. This will prevent name clashes of
named physical register with named vregs.
llvm-svn: 323922
Planning to add support for named vregs. This puts is in a conundrum since
physregs are named as well. To rectify this we need to use a sigil other than
'%' for physregs in MIR. We've settled on using '$' for physregs but first we
must repurpose it from external symbols using it, which is what this commit is
all about. We think '&' will have familiar semantics for C/C++ users.

This commit modifies the serialization syntax so that the global IR values in
machine memory operands use the global value '@<name>' syntax instead of the
current '%ir.<name>' syntax.
The unnamed global IR values are handled by this commit as well, as the
existing global value parsing method can parse the unnamed globals already.
llvm-svn: 245527
This commit modifies the way the machine basic blocks are serialized - now the
machine basic blocks are serialized using a custom syntax instead of relying on
YAML primitives. Instead of using YAML mappings to represent the individual
machine basic blocks in a machine function's body, the new syntax uses a single
YAML block scalar which contains all of the machine basic blocks and
instructions for that function.
This is an example of a function's body that uses the old syntax:
body:
- id: 0
name: entry
instructions:
- '%eax = MOV32r0 implicit-def %eflags'
- 'RETQ %eax'
...
The same body is now written like this:
body: |
bb.0.entry:
%eax = MOV32r0 implicit-def %eflags
RETQ %eax
...
This syntax change is motivated by the fact that the bundled machine
instructions didn't map that well to the old syntax which was using a single
YAML sequence to store all of the machine instructions in a block. The bundled
machine instructions internally use flags like BundledPred and BundledSucc to
determine the bundles, and serializing them as MI flags using the old syntax
would have had a negative impact on the readability and the ease of editing
for MIR files. The new syntax allows me to serialize the bundled machine
instructions using a block construct without relying on the internal flags,
for example:
BUNDLE implicit-def dead %itstate, implicit-def %s1 ... {
t2IT 1, 24, implicit-def %itstate
%s1 = VMOVS killed %s0, 1, killed %cpsr, implicit killed %itstate
}
This commit also converts the MIR testcases to the new syntax. I developed
a script that can convert from the old syntax to the new one. I will post the
script on the llvm-commits mailing list in the thread for this commit.
