Emits MLIR op corresponding to `!$omp target update` directive. So far,
only motion types: `to` and `from` are supported. Motion modifiers:
`present`, `mapper`, and `iterator` are not supported yet.
This is a follow up to #75047 & #75159, only the last commit is relevant
to this PR.
This patch changes the bounds generation code shared between OpenMP and OpenACC to always attach an extent to the bounds generation. This is
currently required for OpenMP descriptor lowering but may not
necessarily be required in the case of OpenACC.
This patch removes the val field from the `MapInfoOp`.
Previously when lowering `TargetOp`, the bounds information for the
`BoxValues` were also being mapped. Instead these ops are now cloned
inside the target region to prevent mapping of non reference typed
values.
Initialization of reduction variable for min-reduction is set to largest
negative value. As such, in presence of non-negative operands, min
reduction gives incorrect output. This patch initialises min-reduction
to use the maximum positive value instead, so that it can produce
correct output for the entire range of real valued operands.

This patch adds the following check from OpenMP 5.2.

If the directive has a clause, it must contain at least one enter clause
or at least one link clause.

Also added a warning for the deprication of `TO` clause on `DECLARE
TARGET` construct.

The clause-name to may be used as a synonym for the clause-name enter.
This use has been deprecated.

Based on the tests for to clause, the tests for enter clause are added.
This patch does not add tests where both to and enter clause are used together.
Hoist non-atomic expressions in atomic intrinsics. Use a list to collect
the non-atomic expressions since the max and min intrinsics can have
more than two operands.
Hoisting makes the lowering to LLVMIR of iand,ior,ieor intrinsics
trivial. For max and min this still results in multiple instructions in
the atomic region but the loads are removed, which should help improve
performance.
Currently, when deleting the device functions in the second stage of filtering during MLIR to LLVM translation we can end up with invalid calls to these functions. This is because of the removal of the EarlyOutliningPass which would have otherwise gotten rid of any such calls.
This patch aims to alter the function filtering pass in the following way:
- Any host function is completely removed.
- Call to the host function are also removed and their uses replaced with Undef values.
- Any host function with target region code is marked to be removed during the the second stage.
- Calls to such functions are still removed and their uses replaced with Undef values.

Patch 2/3 of the transition step 1 described in
https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-enabling-the-hlfir-lowering-by-default/72778/7.
All the modified tests are still here since coverage for the direct
lowering to FIR was still needed while it was default. Some already have
an HLFIR version, some have not and will need to be ported in step 2
described in the RFC.
Note that another 147 lit tests use -emit-fir/-emit-llvm outputs but do
not need a flag since the HLFIR/no HLFIR output is the same for what is
being tested.
Change the separator in the `uniqueCGIdent` method to `X`. This change
is required to enable OpenMP offloading for the NVPTX target, as dots
are not valid identifiers in PTX and `uniqueCGIdent` is used to mangle
some literals. Follow up patches will change the remainder of `.`
appearances in names to `X` and add support for the NVPTX target.
This patch removes the OMPEarlyOutliningPass as it is no longer required. The implicit map operand capture has now been moved to the PFT lowering stage.

This patch adds the PFT lowering changes required for adding the IsolatedFromAbove trait to omp.target.
Key Changes:
- Add IsolatedFromAbove trait to target op in MLIR.
- Main reason for this change is to prevent CSE and other similar optimisations from crossing region boundaries for target operations. The link below has the discourse discussion surrounding this issue.
- Move implicit operand capturing to the PFT lowering stage.
- Implicit operands are first added as implicitly captured map_operands with their map_types set accordingly to indicate this. Later, all map_operands including implicit ones are added as block arguments.
- Remove `implicit` attribute from the `MapInfoOp`. This information is already captured by the `map_type`.
- The custom printer and parser for the map_types have been updated to show the `implicit` and `literal` map_types.
- Update related tests.
- This fixes#63555.
- This fixes#70488.
!llvm.ptr<T> typed pointers are depreciated in MLIR LLVM dialects. Flang
codegen still generated them and relied on mlir.llvm codegen to LLVM to
turn them into opaque pointers.
This patch update FIR codegen to directly emit and work with LLVM opaque
pointers.

- All places generating GEPs need to add an extra type argument with the
base type (the T that was previously in the llvm.ptr<T> of the base).
- llvm.alloca must also be provided the object type. In the process, I
doscovered that we were shamelessly copying all the attribute from
fir.alloca to the llvm.alloca, which makes no sense for the operand
segments. The updated code that cannot take an attribute dictionnary in
the llvm.alloca builder with opaque pointers only propagate the "pinned"
and "bindc_name" attributes to help debugging the generated IR.
- Updating all the places that rely on getting the llvm object type from
lowered llvm.ptr<T> arguments to get it from a type conversion of the
original fir types.
- Updating all the places that were generating llvm.ptr<T> types to
generate the opaque llvm.ptr type.
- Updating all the codegen tests checking generated MLIR llvm dialect.
Many tests are testing directly LLVM IR, and this change is a no-op for
those (which is expected).
OpenACC/OpenMP atomic lowering needs a finer control over expression
lowering. This patch allows mapping evaluate::Expr<T> to mlir::Value so
that any subsequent expression lowering will use these values when an
operand is a mapped Expr<T>.
This is an alternative to
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/69866 From which I took the
test and some of the logic to extract the non-atomic sub-expression.

Iteration variables behave slightly different with LASTPRIVATE,
as they must be assigned the value that the copy would have after
sequential execution of the loop. This case is now handled.
This patch also fixes LASTPRIVATE for loops where the step is
different from 1.

Remove usage of getElementType in OpenMPTranslation to pave way for
switching to opaque pointers in MLIR and Flang. The approach chosen
stores the elementType in a new field in MapInfo called varType. A
similar approach was chosen for AtomicReadOp in
81767f52f4
This patch makes changes to the early outlining pass to avoid compiler
crashes due to not handling `hlfir.declare` operations correctly. That
pass is intended to eventually be removed (#67319), but in the meantime
this fixes some issues arising in different parts of the OpenMP
offloading compilation process.
The main changes included in this patch are the following:
- Added support for mapped values defined by an `hlfir.declare`
operation. These operations are now kept in outlined target functions,
so that both of their outputs (base and original base) are available to
the corresponding `omp.target`'s map arguments and region.
- Added a fix by @agozillon to prevent unused map clauses from producing
a compiler crash. All these unused mapped variables are added to the
outlined function's inputs.
- Added a fix to the OpenMP translation to MLIR to support integer
arguments to these outlined functions. This enables successfully
compiling and running the tests in
opemp/libomptarget/test/offloading/fortran using HLFIR.

concise assembly formats without a custom printer.
An extra print of " " is also removed, this does change any existing
uses of oilists, but if the parameter before the oilist is optional,
that would previously add an extra space.

- None of expr, and expr_list (as applicable) may access the same storage location as x
- Atomic update statement should be of the form x = x operator expr or
x = expr operator x or x = intrinsic_procedure(x, expr_list) or x = intrinsic_procedure(expr_list, x)
- expr_list is a comma-separated, non-empty list of scalar expressions. If intrinsic_procedure_name
refers to IAND, IOR, or IEOR, exactly one expression must appear in expr_list

The bug was that when instantiating a character array result variable,
the code inserted a cast from the result buffer to the proper array type
if it could see an fir.unboxchar op. But this is wrong for results and
on caller side because the fir.emboxchar is visible so,
charHelper.genUnboxChar() just takes the operand from that instead of
generating an unboxchar.
The fix is simply to move the cast at the place where fir.boxchar<>
argument are dealt with. The cast when creating fir.emboxchar is also
removed: it adds noise and causes constant length result type to be
lowered to fir.char<?>.
The main change from this patch is to deal with the lit test fallout of
this cast move and removal.
There are currently several places that automatically deallocate
allocatble if they are allocated:
- INTENT(OUT) allocatable are deallocated on entry in the callee
- INTENT(OUT) allocatable are also deallocated on the caller side of
BIND(C) function in case the implementation is in C.
- Results of function returning allocatable are deallocated after usage.
- OPENMP privatized allocatable are deallocated at the end of OPENMP
region.
Introduce genDeallocateIfAllocated that centralize all this code, except
for the function return that use genFreememIfAllocated since
finalization is done separately currently.
`fir:🏭:genFinalization` and
`fir:🏭:genInlinedDeallocation` are removed and replaced by
genFreemem since their name were misleading: finalization was not
called.
There is a fallout in the tests because previous generated code did not
check the allocated status when doing inline deallocation. This was OK
since free(null) is guaranteed to be a no-op, but this makes compiler
code more complex, is a bit surprising in the generated IR IMHO, and it
relied on knowing when genDeallocateBox inserts runtime calls or uses
inlined code.
As part of preparing for the switch to HLFIR lowering, all OpenMP FIR
lowering tests are moved to a subdirectory in the OpenMP directory.
Copies of these tests that work with HLFIR will be created during this
week. After the switch the FIR lowering tests will be removed.
All new tests should be added with the HLFIR flow.
