6f2e92c10c Re-land [LLD] Allow usage of LLD as a library
This reverts commit aa495214b39d475bab24b468de7a7c676ce9e366.

As discussed in https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues/53475 this patch
allows for using LLD-as-a-lib. It also lets clients link only the drivers that
they want (see unit tests).

This also adds the unit test infra as in the other LLVM projects. Among the
test coverage, I've added the original issue from @krzysz00, see:
https://github.com/ROCmSoftwarePlatform/D108850-lld-bug-reproduction

Important note: this doesn't allow (yet) linking in parallel. This will come a
bit later hopefully, in subsequent patches, for COFF at least.

[lld][test] Delete empty Unit test directory
This became empty when we removed the legacy macho lld. This results in
a warning when running `check-lld`. We can revert this in the future if
we want unit tests.

57ee624d79 [cmake] Provide CURRENT_TOOLS_DIR centrally, replacing CLANG_TOOLS_DIR
CLANG_TOOLS_DIR holds the the current bin/ directory, maybe with a %(build_mode)
placeholder. It is used to add the just-built binaries to $PATH for lit tests.
In most cases it equals LLVM_TOOLS_DIR, which is used for the same purpose.
But for a standalone build of clang, CLANG_TOOLS_DIR points at the build tree
and LLVM_TOOLS_DIR points at the provided LLVM binaries.

Currently CLANG_TOOLS_DIR is set in clang/test/, clang-tools-extra/test/, and
other things always built with clang. This is a few cryptic lines of CMake in
each place. Meanwhile LLVM_TOOLS_DIR is provided by configure_site_lit_cfg().

This patch moves CLANG_TOOLS_DIR to configure_site_lit_cfg() and renames it:
 - there's nothing clang-specific about the value
 - it will also replace LLD_TOOLS_DIR, LLDB_TOOLS_DIR etc (not in this patch)

It also defines CURRENT_LIBS_DIR. While I removed the last usage of
CLANG_LIBS_DIR in e4cab4e24d1, there are LLD_LIBS_DIR usages etc that
may be live, and I'd like to mechanically update them in a followup patch.

ed98676fa4 Support multi-configuration generators correctly in several config files
Multi-configuration generators (such as Visual Studio and Xcode) allow the specification of a build flavor at build time instead of config time, so the lit configuration files need to support that - and they do for the most part. There are several places that had one of two issues (or both!):

1) Paths had %(build_mode)s set up, but then not configured, resulting in values that would not work correctly e.g. D:/llvm-build/%(build_mode)s/bin/dsymutil.exe
2) Paths did not have %(build_mode)s set up, but instead contained $(Configuration) (which is the value for Visual Studio at configuration time, for Xcode they would have had the equivalent) e.g. "D:/llvm-build/$(Configuration)/lib".

This seems to indicate that we still have a lot of fragility in the configurations, but also that a number of these paths are never used (at least on Windows) since the errors appear to have been there a while.

This patch fixes the configurations and it has been tested with Ninja and Visual Studio to generate the correct paths. We should consider removing some of these settings altogether.

c4c3883b00 build: use find_package(Python3) if available
This is primarily motivated by the desire to move from Python2 to
Python3. `PYTHON_EXECUTABLE` is ambiguous. This explicitly identifies
the python interpreter in use. Since the LLVM build seems to be able to
completed successfully with python3, use that across the build. The old
path aliases `PYTHON_EXECUTABLE` to be treated as Python3.

ce92db13ea Resubmit "[lit] Force site configs to run before source-tree configs"
This is a resubmission of r313270. It broke standalone builds of
compiler-rt because we were not correctly generating the llvm-lit
script in the standalone build directory.

The fixes incorporated here attempt to find llvm/utils/llvm-lit
from the source tree returned by llvm-config. If present, it
will generate llvm-lit into the output directory. Regardless,
the user can specify -DLLVM_EXTERNAL_LIT to point to a specific
lit.py on their file system. This supports the use case of
someone installing lit via a package manager. If it cannot find
a source tree, and -DLLVM_EXTERNAL_LIT is either unspecified or
invalid, then we print a warning that tests will not be able
to run.

a0e55b6403 [lit] Force site configs to be run before source-tree configs
This patch simplifies LLVM's lit infrastructure by enforcing an ordering
that a site config is always run before a source-tree config.

A significant amount of the complexity from lit config files arises from
the fact that inside of a source-tree config file, we don't yet know if
the site config has been run. However it is *always* required to run
a site config first, because it passes various variables down through
CMake that the main config depends on. As a result, every config
file has to do a bunch of magic to try to reverse-engineer the location
of the site config file if they detect (heuristically) that the site
config file has not yet been run.

This patch solves the problem by emitting a mapping from source tree
config file to binary tree site config file in llvm-lit.py. Then, during
discovery when we find a config file, we check to see if we have a
target mapping for it, and if so we use that instead.

This mechanism is generic enough that it does not affect external users
of lit. They will just not have a config mapping defined, and everything
will work as normal.

On the other hand, for us it allows us to make many simplifications:

* We are guaranteed that a site config will be executed first
* Inside of a main config, we no longer have to assume that attributes
might not be present and use getattr everywhere.
* We no longer have to pass parameters such as --param llvm_site_config=<path>
  on the command line.
* It is future-proof, meaning you don't have to edit llvm-lit.in to add
  support for new projects.
* All of the duplicated logic of trying various fallback mechanisms of
finding a site config from the main config are now gone.

One potentially noteworthy thing that was required to implement this
change is that whereas the ninja check targets previously used the first
method to spawn lit, they now use the second. In particular, you can no
longer run lit.py against the source tree while specifying the various
`foo_site_config=<path>` parameters. Instead, you need to run
llvm-lit.py.

bb241249df Replace hardcoded comment at 'lit.site.cfg.in'
At the moment almost every lit.site.cfg.in contains two lines comment:

  ## Autogenerated by LLVM/Clang configuration.
  # Do not edit!

The patch adds variable LIT_SITE_CFG_IN_HEADER, that is replaced from
configure_lit_site_cfg with the note and some useful information.
