[lldb] Create a single Severity enum in lldb-enumerations (#90917)
We have 3 different enums all expressing severity (info, warning,
error). Remove all uses with a new Severity enum in lldb-enumerations.h.

[lldb][nfc] Move broadcaster class strings away from ConstString (#89690)
These are hardcoded strings that are already present in the data section
of the binary, no need to immediately place them in the ConstString
StringPools. Lots of code still calls `GetBroadcasterClass` and places
the return value into a ConstString. Changing that would be a good
follow-up.

Additionally, calls to these functions are still wrapped in ConstStrings
at the SBAPI layer. This is because we must guarantee the lifetime of
all strings handed out publicly.

[lldb] Allow languages to filter breakpoints set by line (#83908)
Some languages may create artificial functions that have no real user
code, even though there is line table information for them. One such
case is with coroutine code that receives the CoroSplitter
transformation in LLVM IR. That code transformation creates many
different Functions, cloning one Instruction into many Instructions in
many different Functions and copying the associated debug locations.

It would be difficult to make that pass delete debug locations of cloned
instructions in a language agnostic way (is it even possible?), but LLDB
can ignore certain locations by querying its Language APIs and having it
decide based on, for example, mangling information.

Rename llvm::ThreadPool -> llvm::DefaultThreadPool (NFC) (#83702)
The base class llvm::ThreadPoolInterface will be renamed
llvm::ThreadPool in a subsequent commit.

This is a breaking change: clients who use to create a ThreadPool must
now create a DefaultThreadPool instead.

[lldb][progress] Hook up new broadcast bit and progress manager (#83069)
This commit adds the functionality to broadcast events using the
`Debugger::eBroadcastProgressCategory`
bit (https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/81169) by keeping track
of these reports with the `ProgressManager`
class (https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/81319). The new bit is
used in such a way that it will only broadcast the initial and final
progress reports for specific progress categories that are managed by
the progress manager.

This commit also adds a new test to the progress report unit test that
checks that only the initial/final reports are broadcasted when using
the new bit.

[lldb] Fix GetTerminalWidth after afd469023aad
afd469023aad fixed the type of the term-width setting but the getter
(Debugger::GetTerminalWidth) was still trying to get the terminal width
as an unsigned. This fixes TestXMLRegisterFlags.py.

[lldb] Fix term-width setting (#82736)
I noticed that the term-width setting would always report its default
value (80) despite the driver correctly setting the value with
SBDebugger::SetTerminalWidth.

```
(lldb) settings show term-width
term-width (int) = 80
```

The issue is that the setting was defined as a SInt64 instead of a
UInt64 while the getter returned an unsigned value. There's no reason
the terminal width should be a signed value. My best guess it that it
was using SInt64 because UInt64 didn't support min and max values. I
fixed that and correct the type and now lldb reports the correct
terminal width:

[lldb] colorize symbols in image lookup with a regex pattern (#69422)
Fixes https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues/57372

Previously some work has already been done on this. A PR was generated
but it remained in review:

In short previous approach was following:
Changing the symbol names (making the searched part colorized) ->
printing them -> restoring the symbol names back in their original form.

The reviewers suggested that instead of changing the symbol table, this
colorization should be done in the dump functions itself. Our strategy
involves passing the searched regex pattern to the existing dump
functions responsible for printing information about the searched
symbol. This pattern is propagated until it reaches the line in the dump
functions responsible for displaying symbol information on screen.

At this point, we've introduced a new function called
"PutCStringColorHighlighted," which takes the searched pattern, a prefix and suffix,
and the text and applies colorization to highlight the pattern in the
output. This approach aims to streamline the symbol search process to
improve readability of search results.

Fix a stall in running quit while a live process is running (#74687)
We need to generate events when finalizing, or we won't know that we
succeeded in stopping the process to detach/kill. Instead, we stall and
then after our 20 interrupt timeout, we kill the process (even if we
were supposed to detach) and exit.

OTOH, we have to not generate events when the Process is being
destructed because shared_from_this has already been torn down, and
using it will cause crashes.

[lldb] Add a setting to customize the prompt color (#66218)
Users often want to change the look of their prompt and currently the
only way to do that is by using ANSI escape codes in the prompt itself.
This is not only tedious, it also results in extra whitespace because
our Editline wrapper, when computing the cursor column, doesn't ignore
the invisible escape codes.

We already have various *-ansi-{prefix,suffix} settings that allow the
users to customize the color of auto-suggestions and progress events,
using mnemonics like ${ansi.fg.yellow}. This patch brings the same
mechanism to the prompt.

f2d32ddcec [lldb] Sink StreamFile into lldbHost
StreamFile subclasses Stream (from lldbUtility) and is backed by a File
(from lldbHost). It does not depend on anything from lldbCore or any of its
sibling libraries, so I think it makes sense for this to live in
lldbHost instead.

on. By default, it's a nullptr, but we always feed it with a valid

c1885d2dfa "settings set -g target.load-script-from-symbol-file" shouldn't crash.
-g is specified by passing in nullptr ExecutionContext, but in some
load-script-from-symbol-file specific code, the ExecutionContext was
asked for its Target w/o checking whether the pointer was null.

Fix that and add a test.

e29cc5216a [lldb][NFCI] Remove use of ConstString from IOHandler
None of these need to be in the ConstString StringPool. For the most
part they are constant strings and do not require fast comparisons.

I did change IOHandlerDelegateMultiline slightly -- specifically, the
`m_end_line` member always has a `\n` at the end of it now. This was so
that `IOHandlerGetControlSequence` can always return a StringRef. This
did require a slight change to `IOHandlerIsInputComplete` where we must
drop the newline before comparing it against the input parameter.

[lldb] Print lldbassert to debugger diagnostics
When hitting an lldbassert in a non-assert build, we emit a blurb
including the assertion, the triggering file and line and a pretty
backtrace leading up to the issue. Currently, this is all printed to
stderr. That's fine on the command line, but when used as library, for
example from Xcode, this information doesn't make it to the user. This
patch uses the diagnostic infrastructure to report LLDB asserts as
diagnostic events.

The patch is slightly more complicated than I would've liked because of
layering. lldbassert is part of Utility while the debugger diagnostics
are implemented in Core.

7b5dc63fc4 When the Debugger runs HandleProcessEvent it should allow
selecting the "Most relevant" frame.

If you don't do that, then the correct frame gets selected, but it
happens AFTER the frame info gets printed in the stop message, so
you don't see the selected frame.

The test for this hid the issue because it ran `frame info` and
checked the result of that.  That happens after the recognizer selects
the frame, and so it was right.  But if the recognizer is working
correctly it will have already done the same printing in the stop
message, and this way we also verify that the stop message was right.

[lldb] Use templates to simplify {Get,Set}PropertyAtIndex (NFC)
Use templates to simplify {Get,Set}PropertyAtIndex. It has always
bothered me how cumbersome those calls are when adding new properties.
After this patch, SetPropertyAtIndex infers the type from its arguments
and GetPropertyAtIndex required a single template argument for the
return value. As an added benefit, this enables us to remove a bunch of
wrappers from UserSettingsController and OptionValueProperties.

[lldb] Refactor OptionValueProperties to return a std::optional (NFC)
Similar to fdbe7c7faa54, refactor OptionValueProperties to return a
std::optional instead of taking a fail value. This allows the caller to
handle situations where there's no value, instead of being unable to
distinguish between the absence of a value and the value happening the
match the fail value. When a fail value is required,
std::optional::value_or() provides the same functionality.

6fcdfc378c [lldb] Change return type of FileSpec::GetFileNameExtension
These don't really need to be in ConstStrings. It's nice that comparing
ConstStrings is fast (just a pointer comparison) but the cost of
creating the ConstString usually already includes the cost of doing a
StringRef comparison anyway, so this is just extra work and extra memory
consumption for basically no benefit.

076341d108 Make sure SelectMostRelevantFrame happens only when returning to the user.
This is a user facing action, it is meant to focus the user's attention on
something other than the 0th frame when you stop somewhere where that's
helpful. For instance, stopping in pthread_kill after an assert will select
the assert frame.

This is not something you want to have happen internally in lldb, both
because internally you really don't want the selected frame changing out
from under you, and because the recognizers can do arbitrary work, and that
can cause deadlocks or other unexpected behavior.

However, it's not something that the current code does
explicitly after a stop has been delivered, it's expected to happen implicitly
as part of stopping. I changing this to call SMRF explicitly after a user
stop, but that got pretty ugly quickly.

So I added a bool to control whether to run this and audited all the current
uses to determine whether we're returning to the user or not.

[lldb] Copy log files into diagnostic directory
This patch copies over log files to the diagnostic directory. The caveat
here is that this only works for logs that are redirected to a file. The
implementation piggybacks of the mapping kept by the debugger. The
advantage is that it's free until you generate the diagnostics, at which
point you only pay the price of copying over the file.

[lldb] Add the ability to provide a message to a progress event update
Consider the following example as motivation. Say you have to load
symbols for 3 dynamic libraries: `libFoo`, `libBar` and `libBaz`.
Currently, there are two ways to report process for this operation:

 1. As 3 separate progress instances. In this case you create a progress
    instance with the message "Loading symbols: libFoo", "Loading
    symbols: libBar", and "Loading symbols: libBaz" respectively. Each
    progress event gets a unique ID and therefore cannot be correlated
    by the consumer.

 2. As 1 progress instance with 3 units of work. The title would be
    "Loading symbols" and you call Progress::Increment for each of the
    libraries. The 3 progress events share the same ID and can easily be
    correlated, however, in the current design, there's no way to
    include the name of the libraries.

The second approach is preferred when the amount of work is known in
advance, because determinate progress can be reported (i.e. x out of y
operations completed). An additional benefit is that the progress
consumer can decide to ignore certain progress updates by their ID if
they are deemed to noisy, which isn't trivial for the first approach due
to the use of different progress IDs.

This patch adds the ability to add a message (detail) to a progress
event update. For the example described above, progress can now be
displayed as shown:

  [1/3] Loading symbols: libFoo
  [2/3] Loading symbols: libBar
  [3/3] Loading symbols: libBaz

2d53527e9c [lldb] Add Debugger & ScriptedMetadata reference to Platform::CreateInstance
This patch is preparatory work for Scripted Platform support and does
multiple things:

First, it introduces new options for the `platform select` command and
`SBPlatform::Create` API, to hold a reference to the debugger object,
the name of the python script managing the Scripted Platform and a
structured data dictionary that the user can use to pass arbitrary data.

Then, it updates the various `Create` and `GetOrCreate` methods for
the `Platform` and `PlatformList` classes to pass down the new parameter
to the `Platform::CreateInstance` callbacks.

Finally, it updates every callback to reflect these changes.

185d4964a1 [lldb] Introduce dwim-print command
Implements `dwim-print`, a printing command that chooses the most direct,
efficient, and resilient means of printing a given expression.

DWIM is an acronym for Do What I Mean. From Wikipedia, DWIM is described as:

  > attempt to anticipate what users intend to do, correcting trivial errors
  > automatically rather than blindly executing users' explicit but
  > potentially incorrect input

The `dwim-print` command serves as a single print command for users who don't
yet know, or prefer not to know, the various lldb commands that can be used to
print, and when to use them.

This initial implementation is the base foundation for `dwim-print`. It accepts
no flags, only an expression. If the expression is the name of a variable in
the frame, then effectively `frame variable` is used to get, and print, its
value. Otherwise, printing falls back to using `expression` evaluation. In this
initial version, frame variable paths will be handled with `expression`.

Following this, there are a number of improvements that can be made. Some
improvements include supporting `frame variable` expressions or registers.

To provide transparency, especially as the `dwim-print` command evolves, a new
setting is also introduced: `dwim-print-verbosity`. This setting instructs
`dwim-print` to optionally print a message showing the effective command being
run. For example `dwim-print var.meth()` can print a message such as: "note:
ran `expression var.meth()`".

[lldb] Add diagnostics
Around this time last year, I said on the mailing list [1] that I wanted
to to transform the reproducers into something that resembles a
sysdiagnose on Apple platforms: a collection of files containing a
variety of information to help diagnose bugs or troubleshoot issues.

This patch adds that framework. Based on lessons learned from the
reproducers, I've intentionally tried to keep it small and simple.
Different parts of LLDB can register callbacks (this is necessary for
layering purposes) that will get called when the diagnostics should be
generated.
