[NFC][MI] Tidy Up RegState enum use (2/2) (#177090)
This Change makes `RegState` into an enum class, with bitwise operators.
It also:
- Updates declarations of flag variables/arguments/returns from
`unsigned` to `RegState`.
- Updates empty RegState initializers from 0 to `{}`.

If this is causing problems in downstream code:
- Adopt the `RegState getXXXRegState(bool)` functions instead of using a
ternary operator such as `bool ? RegState::XXX : 0`.
- Adopt the `bool hasRegState(RegState, RegState)` function instead of
using a bitwise check of the flags.

CodeGen: Keep reference to TargetRegisterInfo in TargetInstrInfo (#158224)
Both conceptually belong to the same subtarget, so it should not
be necessary to pass in the context TargetRegisterInfo to any
TargetInstrInfo member. Add this reference so those superfluous
arguments can be removed.

Most targets placed their TargetRegisterInfo as a member
in TargetInstrInfo. A few had this owned by the TargetSubtargetInfo,
so unify all targets to look the same.

[ARM][MVE] Invalid tail predication in LowOverheadLoop pass (#163941)
When a loop is converted into a low-overhead loop using tail predication
via FPSCR.LTPSIZE, the MQPRCopy pseudo-instruction is expanded into
either two VMOVD or a single MVE_VORR, depending on whether the values
written to the lanes with a 'false' predicate matter. (MVE_VORR uses the
ambient LTPSIZE predicate, so it won't write those lanes at all; the
double VMOVD is slower but gets them right.)

This check was done based on whether the output of the MQPRCopy is live
coming out of the loop. But it missed a case where the live-out value is
not _itself_ an MQPRCopy, but is a predicated operation taking its false
lanes from an MQPRCopy.

Fixes #162644, and adds a new MIR test case derived from the reproducer
in that bug.

CodeGen: Remove MachineFunction argument from getPointerRegClass (#158185)
getPointerRegClass is a layering violation. Its primary purpose
is to determine how to interpret an MCInstrDesc's operands RegClass
fields. This should be context free, and only depend on the subtarget.
The model of this is also wrong, since this should be an
instruction / operand specific property, not a global pointer class.
Remove the the function argument to help stage removal of this hook
and avoid introducing any new obstacles to replacing it.

The remaining uses of the function were to get the subtarget, which
TargetRegisterInfo already belongs to. A few targets needed new
subtarget derived properties copied there.

[ARM] Use t2LDRLIT_ga_pcrel for loading stack guards with no-movt in PIC mode. (#156208)
When using no-movt we don't use the pcrel version of the literal load.
This change also unifies logic with the ARM version of this function as
well,

[CodeGen] Change copyPhysReg interface to use Register instead of MCRegister. (#128473)
NVPTX, SPIRV, and WebAssembly pass virtual registers to this function
since they don't perform register allocation. We need to use Register to
avoid a virtual register being converted to MCRegister by the caller.

[llvm] Pass MachineInstr flags to storeRegToStackSlot/loadRegFromStackSlot (NFC) (#120622)
This patch is in preparation to enable setting the MachineInstr::MIFlag
flags, i.e. FrameSetup/FrameDestroy, on callee saved register
spill/reload instructions in prologue/epilogue. This eventually helps in
setting the prologue_end and epilogue_begin markers more accurately.

The DWARF Spec in "6.4 Call Frame Information" says:

The code that allocates space on the call frame stack and performs the
save
operation is called the subroutine’s prologue, and the code that
performs
the restore operation and deallocates the frame is called its epilogue.

which means the callee saved register spills and reloads are part of
prologue (a.k.a frame setup) and epilogue (a.k.a frame destruction),
respectively. And, IIUC, LLVM backend uses FrameSetup/FrameDestroy flags
to identify instructions that are part of call frame setup and
destruction.

In the trunk, while most targets consistently set
FrameSetup/FrameDestroy on save/restore call frame information (CFI)
instructions of callee saved registers, they do not consistently set
those flags on the actual callee saved register spill/reload
instructions.

I believe this patch provides a clean mechanism to set
FrameSetup/FrameDestroy flags on the actual callee saved register
spill/reload instructions as needed. And, by having default argument of
MachineInstr::NoFlags for Flags, this patch is a NFC.

With this patch, the targets have to just pass FrameSetup/FrameDestroy
flag to the storeRegToStackSlot/loadRegFromStackSlot calls from the
target derived spillCalleeSavedRegisters and restoreCalleeSavedRegisters
to set those flags on callee saved register spill/reload instructions.

Also, this patch makes it very easy to set the source line information
on callee saved register spill/reload instructions which is needed by
the DwarfDebug.cpp implementation to set prologue_end and epilogue_begin
markers more accurately.

As per DwarfDebug.cpp implementation:

prologue_end is the first known non-DBG_VALUE and non-FrameSetup
location
    that marks the beginning of the function body

epilogue_begin is the first FrameDestroy location that has been seen in
the
    epilogue basic block

With this patch, the targets have to just do the following to set the
source line information on callee saved register spill/reload
instructions, without hampering the LLVM's efforts to avoid adding
source line information on the artificial code generated by the
compiler.

[ARM] Honour -mno-movt in stack protector handling (#109022)
When -mno-movt is passed to Clang, the ARM codegen correctly avoids
movt/movw pairs to take the address of __stack_chk_guard in the stack
protector code emitted into the function pro- and epilogues. However,
the Thumb2 codegen fails to do so, and happily emits movw/movt pairs
unless it is generating an ELF binary and the symbol might be in a
different DSO. Let's incorporate a check for useMovt() in the logic
here, so movt/movw are never emitted when -mno-movt is specified.

Suggestions welcome for how/where to add a test case for this.

[CodeGen] Make the parameter TRI required in some functions. (#85968)
Fixes #82659

There are some functions, such as `findRegisterDefOperandIdx` and  `findRegisterDefOperand`, that have too many default parameters. As a result, we have encountered some issues due to the lack of TRI  parameters, as shown in issue #82411.

Following @RKSimon 's suggestion, this patch refactors 9 functions, including `{reads, kills, defines, modifies}Register`,  `registerDefIsDead`, and `findRegister{UseOperandIdx, UseOperand, DefOperandIdx, DefOperand}`, adjusting the order of the TRI parameter and making it required. In addition, all the places that call these functions have also been updated correctly to ensure no additional impact.

After this, the caller of these functions should explicitly know whether to pass the `TargetRegisterInfo` or just a `nullptr`.

[ARM][Thumb2] Mark BTI-clearing instructions as scheduling region boundaries (#87982)
Following https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/68313 this patch
extends the idea to M-profile PACBTI.

The Machine Scheduler can reorder instructions within a scheduling
region depending on the scheduling policy set. If a BTI-clearing
instruction happens to partake in one such region, it might be moved
around, therefore ending up where it shouldn't.

The solution is to mark all BTI-clearing instructions as scheduling
region boundaries. This essentially means that they must not be part of
any scheduling region, and as consequence never get moved:

 - PAC
 - PACBTI
 - BTI
 - SG

Note that PAC isn't BTI-clearing, but it's replaced by PACBTI late in
the compilation pipeline.

As far as I know, currently it isn't possible to organically obtain code
that's susceptible to the bug:

- Instructions that write to SP are region boundaries. PAC seems to
always be followed by the pushing of r12 to the stack, so essentially
PAC is always by itself in a scheduling region.
- CALL_BTI is expanded into a machine instruction bundle. Bundles are
unpacked only after the last machine scheduler run. Thus setjmp and BTI
can be separated only if someone deliberately run the scheduler once
more.
- The BTI insertion pass is run late in the pipeline, only after the
last machine scheduling has run. So once again it can be reordered only
if someone deliberately runs the scheduler again.

Nevertheless, one can reasonably argue that we should prevent the bug in
spite of the compiler not being able to produce the required conditions
for it. If things change, the compiler will be robust against this
issue.

The tests written for this are contrived: bogus MIR instructions have
been added adjacent to the BTI-clearing instructions in order to have
them inside non-trivial scheduling regions.

[Thumb,ELF] Fix access to dso_preemptable __stack_chk_guard with static relocation model (#78950)
PR #70014 fixes A32 to use GOT for dso_preemptable `__stack_chk_guard`
with static relocation model (e.g. -fPIE/-fPIC LTO compiles with -no-pie
linking).

This patch fixes such `__stack_chk_guard` access for Thumb1 and Thumb2.
Note: `t2LDRLIT_ga_pcrel` is only for ELF. mingw needs
`.refptr.__stack_chk_guard` (https://reviews.llvm.org/D92738).

Change MCInstrDesc::operands to return an ArrayRef so we can easily use
it everywhere instead of the (IMHO ugly) opInfo_begin and opInfo_end.
A future patch will remove opInfo_begin and opInfo_end.

Also use it instead of raw access to the OpInfo pointer. A future patch
will remove this pointer.

b5efec4b27 [CodeGen] Additional Register argument to storeRegToStackSlot/loadRegFromStackSlot
With D134950, targets get notified when a virtual register is created and/or
cloned. Targets can do the needful with the delegate callback. AMDGPU propagates
the virtual register flags maintained in the target file itself. They are useful
to identify a certain type of machine operands while inserting spill stores and
reloads. Since RegAllocFast spills the physical register itself, there is no way
its virtual register can be mapped back to retrieve the flags. It can be solved
by passing the virtual register as an additional argument. This argument has no
use when the spill interfaces are called during the greedy allocator or even the
PrologEpilogInserter and can pass a null register in such cases.

b8f1ccb0ac [ARM] Introduce i8neg and i8pos addressing modes
Some instructions with i8 immediate ranges can only hold negative values
(like t2LDRHi8), only hold positive values (like t2STRT) or hold +/-
depending on the U bit (like the pre/post inc instructions. e.g
t2LDRH_POST). This patch splits the AddrModeT2_i8 into AddrModeT2_i8,
AddrModeT2_i8pos and AddrModeT2_i8neg to make this clear.

This allows us to get the offset ranges of t2LDRHi8 correct in the
load/store optimizer, fixing issues where we could end up creating
instructions with positive offsets (which may then be encoded as ldrht).

89453ed6f2 [ARM] create new pseudo t2LDRLIT_ga_pcrel for stack guards
We can't use the existing pseudo ARM::tLDRLIT_ga_pcrel for loading the
stack guard for PIC code that references the GOT, since arm-pseudo may
expand this to the narrow tLDRpci rather than the wider t2LDRpci.

Create a new pseudo, t2LDRLIT_ga_pcrel, and expand it to t2LDRpci.

a19da876ab [ARM] implement support for TLS register based stack protector
Implement support for loading the stack canary from a memory location held in
the TLS register, with an optional offset applied. This is used by the Linux
kernel to implement per-task stack canaries, which is impossible on SMP systems
when using a global variable for the stack canary.

2caf85ad7a [ARM] implement LOAD_STACK_GUARD for remaining targets
Currently, LOAD_STACK_GUARD on ARM is only implemented for Mach-O targets, and
other targets rely on the generic support which may result in spilling of the
stack canary value or address, or may cause it to be kept in a callee save
register across function calls, which means they essentially get spilled as
well, only by the callee when it wants to free up this register.

So let's implement LOAD_STACK GUARD for other targets as well. This ensures
that the load of the stack canary is rematerialized fully in the epilogue.

This code was split off from

  D112768: [ARM] implement support for TLS register based stack protector

for which it is a prerequisite.

2c53215e99 [ARM] Skip debug info in recomputeVPTBlockMask
The ARMLowOverheadLoops pass recalculates VPT block masks when it
converts VCMP's inside VPT blocks into VPT's. The function to do so
doesn't seem to handle debug info though, leading to invalid block
creation or asserts at compile time. Make sure the function skips any
debug info between the MVE instructions it inspects.

146d35b6ee [ARM] CSEL generation
This adds a peephole optimisation to turn a t2MOVccr that could not be
folded into any other instruction into a CSEL on 8.1-m. The t2MOVccr
would usually be expanded into a conditional mov, that becomes an IT;
MOV pair. We can instead generate a CSEL instruction, which can
potentially be smaller and allows better register allocation freedom,
which can help reduce codesize. Performance is more variable and may
depend on the micrarchitecture details, but initial results look good.
If we need to control this per-cpu, we can add a subtarget feature as we
need it.

c7593b0f0d [ARM] Fix rewrite of frame index in Thumb2's address mode i8s4
Summary:
In Thumb2's frame index rewriting process, the address mode i8s4, which
is used by LDRD and STRD instructions, is handled by taking the
immediate offset operand and multiplying it by 4.

This behaviour is wrong, however. In this specific address mode, the
MachineInstr's immediate operand is already in the expected form. By
consequence of that, multiplying it once more by 4 yields a flawed
offset value, four times greater than it should be.

24bf8063d6 [Target][ARM] Replace outdated getARMVPTBlockMask function
getARMVPTBlockMask was an outdated function that only handled basic
block masks: T, TT, TTT and TTTT. This worked fine before the MVE
VPT Block Insertion Pass improvements as it was the only kind of
masks that it could generate, but now it can generate more complex
masks that uses E predicates, so it's dangerous to use that function
to calculate VPT/VPST block masks.

I replaced it with 2 different functions:
  - expandPredBlockMask, in ARMBaseInfo. This adds an "E" or "T" at
    the end of an existing PredBlockMask.
  - recomputeVPTBlockMask, in Thumb2InstrInfo. This takes an iterator
    to a VPT/VPST instruction and recomputes its block mask by looking
    at the predicated instructions that follows it. This should be
    used to recompute a block mask after removing/adding a predicated
    instruction to the block.

The expandPredBlockMask function is pretty much imported from the MVE
VPT Blocks pass.

I had to change the ARMLowOverheadLoops and MVEVPTBlocks passes as well
so they could use these new functions.

d94d079a6a [ARM][Thumb2] Fix ADD/SUB invalid writes to SP
Summary:
This patch fixes pr23772  [ARM] r226200 can emit illegal thumb2 instruction: "sub sp, r12, #80".
The violation was that SUB and ADD (reg, immediate) instructions can only write to SP if the source register is also SP. So the above instructions was unpredictable.
To enforce that the instruction t2(ADD|SUB)ri does not write to SP we now enforce the destination register to be rGPR (That exclude PC and SP).
Different than the ARM specification, that defines one instruction that can read from SP, and one that can't, here we inserted one that can't write to SP, and other that can only write to SP as to reuse most of the hard-coded size optimizations.
When performing this change, it uncovered that emitting Thumb2 Reg plus Immediate could not emit all variants of ADD SP, SP #imm instructions before so it was refactored to be able to. (see test/CodeGen/Thumb2/mve-stacksplot.mir where we use a subw sp, sp, Imm12 variant )
It also uncovered a disassembly issue of adr.w instructions, that were only written as SUBW instructions (see llvm/test/MC/Disassembler/ARM/thumb2.txt).

232cdb3d30 ARM: allow rewriting frame indexes for all prefetch variants.
For some reason we could handle PLD but not PLDW or PLI, but all of them can
potentially refer to the stack region (if weirdly for PLI).

e3a45a24d1 [ARM][Thumb2InstrInfo] Fix default 0 opcode when rewriting frame indices
The static functions `positiveOffsetOpcode`, `negativeOffsetOpcode` and
`immediateOffsetOpcode` (lib/Target/ARM/Thumb2InstrInfo.cpp) currently can
return `0` as default opcode which is meaningless in this situation.

This patch replaces this default value by llvm_unreachable.

95b5d459a0 [ARM] Add a register class for GPR pairs without SP and use it. NFCI
Summary:
Currently Thumb2InstrInfo.cpp uses a register class which is
auto-generated by tablegen. Such approach is fragile because
auto-generated classes might change when other register classes are
added. For example, before https://reviews.llvm.org/D62667
we were using GPRPair_with_gsub_1_in_rGPRRegClass, but had to
change it to GPRPair_with_gsub_1_in_GPRwithAPSRnospRegClass
because the former class stopped being generated (this did not change
the functionality though).

This patch adds a register class consisting of even-odd GPR register
pairs from (R0, R1) to (R10, R11), which excludes (R12, SP) and uses
it in Thumb2InstrInfo.cpp instead of
GPRPair_with_gsub_1_in_GPRwithAPSRnospRegClass.
