[CodeGen][i386] Move -mregparm storage earlier and fix Runtime calls (#89707)
When building the Linux kernel for i386, the -mregparm=3 option is
enabled. Crashes were observed in the sanitizer handler functions, and
the problem was found to be mismatched calling convention.

As was fixed in commit c167c0a4dcdb ("[BuildLibCalls] infer inreg param
attrs from NumRegisterParameters"), call arguments need to be marked as
"in register" when -mregparm is set. Use the same helper developed there
to update the function arguments.

Since CreateRuntimeFunction() is actually part of CodeGenModule, storage
of the -mregparm value is also moved to the constructor, as doing this
in Release() is too late.

f205950e5c [BuildLibCalls] Use getPtrTy instead of getInt8PtrTy
Stop using getInt8PtrTy() when referring to char* types when
building libcalls. As in many other files we can simply use
getPtrTy() instead, as part of transition into opaque pointers.

This patch is using thing like
  Type *CharPtrTy = B.getPtrTy();
  Type *VoidPtrTy = B.getPtrTy();
in several places, to give the pointer type a name.
The idea is to make the mapping to the libc function prototypes clear.

9b2fecec40 [BuildLibCalls][RISCV] Sign extend return value of bcmp on riscv64.
riscv64 wants callees to sign extend signed and unsigned int returns.

The caller can use this to avoid a sign extend if the result is
used by a comparison since riscv64 only has 64-bit compares.

InstCombine/SimplifyLibCalls aggressively turn memcmps that are only
used by an icmp eq 0 into bcmp, but we lose the signext attribute that
would have been present on the memcmp. This causes an unneeded sext.w
in the generated assembly.

This looks even sillier if bcmp is implemented alias to memcmp. In
that case, not only did we not get any savings by using bcmp, we added
an instruction.

This probably applies to other functions, this just happens to be
the one I noticed so far.

304f1d59ca [IR] Switch everything to use memory attribute
This switches everything to use the memory attribute proposed in
https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-unify-memory-effect-attributes/65579.
The old argmemonly, inaccessiblememonly and inaccessiblemem_or_argmemonly
attributes are dropped. The readnone, readonly and writeonly attributes
are restricted to parameters only.

The old attributes are auto-upgraded both in bitcode and IR.
The bitcode upgrade is a policy requirement that has to be retained
indefinitely. The IR upgrade is mainly there so it's not necessary
to update all tests using memory attributes in this patch, which
is already large enough. We could drop that part after migrating
tests, or retain it longer term, to make it easier to import IR
from older LLVM versions.

High-level Function/CallBase APIs like doesNotAccessMemory() or
setDoesNotAccessMemory() are mapped transparently to the memory
attribute. Code that directly manipulates attributes (e.g. via
AttributeList) on the other hand needs to switch to working with
the memory attribute instead.

491ac8f3e8 [LibCalls] Cast Char argument to 'int' before calling emitFPutC
The helpers in BuildLibCalls normally expect that the Value
arguments already have the correct type (matching the lib call
signature). And exception has been emitFPutC which casted the Char
argument to 'int' using CreateIntCast. This patch moves the cast to
the caller instead of doing it inside emitFPutC.

I think it makes sense to make the BuildLibCall API:s a bit
more consistent this way, despite the need to handle the int cast
in two different places now.

aa1b64cc42 [BuildLibCalls] Use TLI to get 'int' and 'size_t' type sizes
Stop assuming that an 'int' is 32 bits in helpers that emit libcalls
to lib functions that had 'int' in the signature. For most targets
this is NFC. For a target with 16 bit 'int' type this could help out
detecting if trying to emit a libcall with incorrect signature.

Similarly we now derive the type mapping to 'size_t' by asking TLI
about the size of 'size_t'. This should be NFC (at least for in-tree
targets) since getSizeTSize(), in TLI, is deriving the size in the
same way as DataLayout::getIntPtrType().

73e8d95d28 [BuildLibCalls] Name types to identify when 'int' and 'size_t' is assumed. NFC
Lots of BuildLibCalls helpers are using Builder::getInt32Ty to get
a type matching an 'int', and DataLayout::getIntPtrType to get a
type matching 'size_t'. The former is not true for all targets, since
and 'int' isn't always 32 bits. And the latter is a bit weird as well
as the definition of DataLayout::getIntPtrType isn't clearly mapping
it to 'size_t'.

This patch is not aiming at solving any such problems. It is merely
highlighting when a libcall is expecting to use 'int' and 'size_t'
by naming the types as IntTy and SizeTTy when preparing the type
signatures for the emitted libcalls.

c167c0a4dc [BuildLibCalls] infer inreg param attrs from NumRegisterParameters
We're having a hard time booting the ARCH=i386 Linux kernel with clang
after removing -ffreestanding because instcombine was dropping inreg
from callers during libcall simplification, but not the callees defined
in different translation units. This led the callers and callees to have
wildly different calling conventions, which (predictably) blew up at
runtime.

Infer the inreg param attrs on function declarations from the module
metadata "NumRegisterParameters." This allows us to boot the ARCH=i386
Linux kernel (w/ -ffreestanding removed).

304378fd09 Reapply "[BuildLibCalls] Introduce getOrInsertLibFunc() for use when building

The patch previously failed to recognize cases where user had defined a
function alias with an identical name as that of the library
function. Module::getFunction() would then return nullptr which is what the
sanitizer discovered.

In this updated version a new function isLibFuncEmittable() has as well been
introduced which is now used instead of TLI->has() anytime a library function
is to be emitted . It additionally also makes sure there is e.g. no function
alias with the same name in the module.

0f8c626723 [BuildLibCalls] Introduce getOrInsertLibFunc() for use when building libcalls.
A new set of overloaded functions named getOrInsertLibFunc() are now supposed
to be used instead of getOrInsertFunction() when building a libcall from
within an LLVM optimizer(). The idea is that this new function also makes
sure that any mandatory argument attributes are added to the function
prototype (after calling getOrInsertFunction()).

inferLibFuncAttributes() is renamed to inferNonMandatoryLibFuncAttrs() as it
only adds attributes that are not necessary for correctness but merely
helping with later optimizations.

Generally, the front end is responsible for building a correct function
prototype with the needed argument attributes. If the middle end however is
the one creating the call, e.g. when replacing one libcall with another, it
then must take this responsibility.

This continues the work of properly handling argument extension if required
by the target ABI when building a lib call. getOrInsertLibFunc() now does
this for all libcalls currently built by any LLVM optimizer. It is expected
that when in the future a new optimization builds a new libcall with an
integer argument it is to be added to getOrInsertLibFunc() with the proper
handling. Note that not all targets have it in their ABI to sign/zero extend
integer arguments to the full register width, but this will be done
selectively as determined by getExtAttrForI32Param().
