Fix OOM in FormatDiagnostic (2nd attempt) (#108866)
Resolves: #70930 (and probably latest comments from clangd/clangd#251)
by fixing racing for the shared DiagStorage value which caused messing with args inside the storage and then formatting the following message with getArgSInt(1) == 2:

def err_module_odr_violation_function : Error<
  "%q0 has different definitions in different modules; "
  "%select{definition in module '%2'|defined here}1 "
  "first difference is "

which causes HandleSelectModifier to go beyond the ArgumentLen so the recursive call to FormatDiagnostic was made with DiagStr > DiagEnd that leads to infinite while (DiagStr != DiagEnd).

The Main Idea:
Reuse the existing DiagStorageAllocator logic to make all DiagnosticBuilders having independent states.
Also, encapsulating the rest of state (e.g. ID and Loc) into DiagnosticBuilder.

The last attempt failed -
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/108187#issuecomment-2353122096
so was reverted - #108838

Fix OOM in FormatDiagnostic (#108187)
Resolves: #70930 (and probably latest comments from
https://github.com/clangd/clangd/issues/251)
by fixing racing for the shared `DiagStorage` value which caused messing
with args inside the storage and then formatting the following message
with `getArgSInt(1)` == 2:
```
def err_module_odr_violation_function : Error<
  "%q0 has different definitions in different modules; "
  "%select{definition in module '%2'|defined here}1 "
  "first difference is "
```
which causes `HandleSelectModifier` to go beyond the `ArgumentLen` so
the recursive call to `FormatDiagnostic` was made with `DiagStr` >
`DiagEnd` that leads to infinite `while (DiagStr != DiagEnd)`.

**The Main Idea:**
Reuse the existing `DiagStorageAllocator` logic to make all
`DiagnosticBuilder`s having independent states.
Also, encapsulating the rest of state (e.g. ID and Loc) into
`DiagnosticBuilder`.

**TODO (if it will be requested by reviewer):**
- [x] add a test (I have no idea how to turn a whole bunch of my
proprietary code which leads `clangd` to OOM into a small public
example.. probably I must try using
[this](https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues/70930#issuecomment-2209872975)
instead)
- [x] [`Diag.CurDiagID !=
diag::fatal_too_many_errors`](https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/108187#pullrequestreview-2296395489)
- [ ] ? get rid of `DiagStorageAllocator` at all and make
`DiagnosticBuilder` having they own `DiagnosticStorage` coz it seems
pretty small so should fit the stack for short-living
`DiagnosticBuilder` instances

[clang] Extend diagnose_if to accept more detailed warning information (#70976)
This implements parts of the extension proposed in
https://discourse.llvm.org/t/exposing-the-diagnostic-engine-to-c/73092/7.

Specifically, this makes it possible to specify a diagnostic group in an
optional third argument.

Make diagnostic pragma override -Werror=foo and DefaultError warnings
In GCC, `#pragma GCC diagnostic warning "-Wfoo"` overrides command-line
`-Werror=foo` and errors that can become warnings (pedwarn with
-pedantic-errors and permerror).

```
#pragma GCC diagnostic warning "-Wnarrowing"
int x = {4.2};
#pragma GCC diagnostic warning "-Wundef"
#if FOO
#endif
// gcc -c -Werror=undef -Werror=narrowing => two warnings
```

These diagnostics are similar to our Warning/ExtWarn/Extension
diagnostics with DefaultError. This patch ports the behavior to Clang.

[clang] Use StringRef::operator== instead of StringRef::equals (NFC) (#91844)
I'm planning to remove StringRef::equals in favor of
StringRef::operator==.

- StringRef::operator==/!= outnumber StringRef::equals by a factor of
  24 under clang/ in terms of their usage.

- The elimination of StringRef::equals brings StringRef closer to
  std::string_view, which has operator== but not equals.

- S == "foo" is more readable than S.equals("foo"), especially for
  !Long.Expression.equals("str") vs Long.Expression != "str".

2176c5e510 [Clang][Sema] Fix display of characters on static assertion failure
This patch fixes the display of characters appearing in LHS or RHS of == expression in notes to static assertion failure.
This applies C-style escape if the printed character is a special character. This also adds a numerical value displayed next to the character representation.
This also tries to print multi-byte characters if the user-provided expression is multi-byte char type.

1ede7b4749 [clang][modules] Avoid serializing all diag mappings in non-deterministic order
When writing a pcm, we serialize diagnostic mappings in order to
accurately reproduce the diagnostic environment inside any headers from
that module. However, the diagnostic state mapping table contains
entries for every diagnostic ID ever accessed, while we only want to
serialize the ones that are actually modified from their default value.
Futher, we need to serialize them in a deterministic order.

64ab2b1dcc Improve handling of static assert messages.
Instead of dumping the string literal (which
quotes it and escape every non-ascii symbol),
we can use the content of the string when it is a
8 byte string.

Wide, UTF-8/UTF-16/32 strings are still completely
escaped, until we clarify how these entities should
behave (cf https://wg21.link/p2361).

`FormatDiagnostic` is modified to escape
non printable characters and invalid UTF-8.

This ensures that unicode characters, spaces and new
lines are properly rendered in static messages.
This make clang more consistent with other implementation
and fixes this tweet
https://twitter.com/jfbastien/status/1298307325443231744 :)

Of note, `PaddingChecker` did print out new lines that were
later removed by the diagnostic printing code.
To be consistent with its tests, the new lines are removed
from the diagnostic.

Unicode tables updated to both use the Unicode definitions
and the Unicode 14.0 data.

U+00AD SOFT HYPHEN is still considered a print character
to match existing practices in terminals, in addition of
being considered a formatting character as per Unicode.

a7691dee2d [Testing] TestAST, a helper for writing straight-line AST tests
Tests that need ASTs have to deal with the awkward control flow of
FrontendAction in some way. There are a few idioms used:
 - don't bother with unit tests, use clang -dump-ast
 - create an ASTConsumer by hand, which is bulky
 - use ASTMatchFinder - works pretty well if matchers are actually
   needed, very strange if they are not
 - use ASTUnit - this yields nice straight-line code, but ASTUnit is a
   terrifically complicated library not designed for this purpose

TestAST provides a very simple way to write straight-line tests: specify
the code/flags and it provides an AST that is kept alive until the
object is destroyed.
It's loosely modeled after TestTU in clangd, which we've successfully
used for a variety of tests.

I've updated a couple of clang tests to use this helper, IMO they're clearer.

b2de52bec1 [clang-cl] Accept #pragma warning(disable : N) for some N
clang-cl maps /wdNNNN to -Wno-flags for a few warnings that map
cleanly from cl.exe concepts to clang concepts.

This patch adds support for the same numbers to
`#pragma warning(disable : NNNN)`. It also lets
`#pragma warning(push)` and `#pragma warning(pop)` have an effect,
since these are used together with `warning(disable)`.

The optional numeric argument to `warning(push)` is ignored,
as are the other non-`disable` `pragma warning()` arguments.
(Supporting `error` would be easy, but we also don't support
`/we`, and those should probably be added together.)

The motivating example is that a bunch of code (including in LLVM)
uses this idiom to locally disable warnings about calls to deprecated
functions in Windows-only code, and 4996 maps nicely to
-Wno-deprecated-declarations:

    #pragma warning(push)
    #pragma warning(disable: 4996)
      f();
    #pragma warning(pop)

Implementation-wise:
- Move `/wd` flag handling from Options.td to actual Driver-level code
- Extract the function mapping cl.exe IDs to warning groups to the
  new file clang/lib/Basic/CLWarnings.cpp
- Create a diag::Group enum so that CLWarnings.cpp can refer to
  existing groups by ID (and give DllexportExplicitInstantiationDecl
  a named group), and add a function to map a diag::Group to the
  spelling of it's associated commandline flag
- Call that new function from PragmaWarningHandler

project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

4cebc9db04 [Basic] Extend DiagnosticEngine to store and format Qualifiers.
Qualifiers can now be streamed into the DiagnosticEngine using
regular << operator. If Qualifiers are empty 'unqualified' will
be printed in the diagnostic otherwise regular qual syntax is
used.

2f55320741 [Basic] Move DiagnosticsEngine::dump from .h to .cpp
The two LLVM_DUMP_METHOD methods have a undefined reference on clang::DiagnosticsEngine::DiagStateMap::dump.

tools/clang/tools/extra/clangd/benchmarks/IndexBenchmark links in
clangDaemon but does not link in clangBasic explicitly, which causes a
linker error "undefined symbol" in !NDEBUG + -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=on builds.

Move LLVM_DUMP_METHOD methods to .cpp to fix IndexBenchmark. They should
be unconditionally defined as they are also used by non-dump-method #pragma clang __debug diag_mapping

3124ce724a Add a newline to SourceLocation dump output
Summary:
Migrate callers to print().

dump() should be useful to downstreams and third parties as a debugging
aid. Everyone trips up on this and creates confusing output.

9fc8faf9e6 Remove \brief commands from doxygen comments.
This is similar to the LLVM change https://reviews.llvm.org/D46290.

We've been running doxygen with the autobrief option for a couple of
years now. This makes the \brief markers into our comments
redundant. Since they are a visual distraction and we don't want to
encourage more \brief markers in new code either, this patch removes
them all.

Patch produced by

for i in $(git grep -l '\@brief'); do perl -pi -e 's/\@brief //g' $i & done
