871de4a479 [X86][test] Add explicit dso_local to definitions in ELF static relocation model tests
TargetMachine::shouldAssumeDSOLocal currently implies dso_local for such definitions.

Adding explicit dso_local makes these tests align with the clang -fno-pic behavior
and allow the removal of the TargetMachine::shouldAssumeDSOLocal special case.

8767f3bb97 [X86][AVX] Remove X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST (PR38969)
Followup to D92645 - remove the remaining places where we create X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST, and fold splatted vector loads to X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST_LOAD instead.

Remove all the X86SubVBroadcast isel patterns, including all the fallbacks for if memory folding failed.

cdb692ee0c [X86] Add X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST_LOAD and begin removing X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST (PR38969)
Subvector broadcasts are only load instructions, yet X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST treats them more generally, requiring a lot of fallback tablegen patterns.

This initial patch replaces constant vector lowering inside lowerBuildVectorAsBroadcast with direct X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST_LOAD loads which helps us merge a number of equivalent loads/broadcasts.

As well as general plumbing/analysis additions for SUBV_BROADCAST_LOAD, I needed to wrap SelectionDAG::makeEquivalentMemoryOrdering so it can handle result chains from non generic LoadSDNode nodes.

Later patches will continue to replace X86ISD::SUBV_BROADCAST usage.

c22dc71b12 [CodeGen][X86] Remove unused trivial check-prefixes from all CodeGen/X86 directory.
I had manually removed unused prefixes from CodeGen/X86 directory for more than 100 tests.
I checked the change history for each of them at the beginning, and then I mainly focused on the format since I found all of the unused prefixes were result from either insensible copy or residuum after functional update.
I think it's OK to remove the remaining X86 tests by script now. I wrote a rough script which works for me in most tests. I put it in llvm/utils temporarily for review and hope it may help other components owners.
The tests in this patch are all generated by the tool and checked by update tool for the autogenerated tests. I skimmed them and checked about 30 tests and didn't find any unexpected changes.

66e39067ed [X86][AVX] Use lowerShuffleAsLanePermuteAndSHUFP to lower binary v4f64 shuffles.
Only perform this if we are shuffling lower and upper lane elements across the lanes (otherwise splitting to lower xmm shuffles would be better).

This is a regression if we shuffle build_vectors due to getVectorShuffle canonicalizing 'blend of splat' build vectors, for now I've set this not to shuffle build_vector nodes at all to avoid this.

18e8d02e8c [X86] Pass v32i16/v64i8 in zmm registers on KNL target.
gcc and icc pass these types in zmm registers in zmm registers.

This patch implements a quick hack to override the register

Longer term we might want to do something similar to 256-bit
integer registers on AVX1 where we just split all the operations.

606eb2367f [x86] split 256-bit store of concatenated vectors
This shows up as a side issue to the main problem for the AVX target example from PR37428:
https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37428 - https://godbolt.org/z/7tpRa3

But as we can see in the pile of existing test diffs, it's actually a widespread problem
that affects any AVX or later target. Apart from a couple of oddballs, I think these are
all improvements for the reasons stated in the code comment: we do not want to enable YMM
unnecessarily (avoid vzeroupper and frequency throttling) and some cores split 256-bit
stores anyway.

We could say that MergeConsecutiveStores() is going overboard on some of these examples,
but that won't solve the problem completely. But that is a reason I'm proposing this as
a lowering rather than a combine: we will infinite loop fighting the merge code if we try
this earlier.

d769bb1e58 [X86][AVX] X86ISD::PERMV/PERMV3 node types can never fold index ops
Improves codegen demonstrated by D60512 - instructions represented by X86ISD::PERMV/PERMV3 can never memory fold the operand used for their index register.

This patch updates the 'isUseOfShuffle' helper into the more capable 'isFoldableUseOfShuffle' that recognises that the op is used for a X86ISD::PERMV/PERMV3 index mask and can't be folded - allowing us to use broadcast/subvector-broadcast ops to reduce the size of the mask constant pool data.

cdb0ed2910 [X86] Add custom execution domain fixing for 128/256-bit integer logic operations with AVX512F, but not AVX512DQ.
AVX512F only has integer domain logic instructions. AVX512DQ added FP domain logic instructions.

Execution domain fixing runs before EVEX->VEX. So if we have AVX512F and not AVX512DQ we fail to do execution domain switching of the logic operations. This leads to mismatches in execution domain and more test differences.

This patch adds custom domain fixing that switches EVEX integer logic operations to VEX fp logic operations if XMM16-31 are not used.

2462a713ae [AVX-512] Don't use unmasked VMOVDQU8/16 for 8-bit or 16-bit element stores even when BWI instructions are supported. Always use VMOVDQA32/VMOVDQU32.
We were already using the 32 bit element opcode if BWI isn't enabled, but there's no reason to change opcode if we have BWI. We will still use the 8/16 opcodes for masked stores though.

This allows us to use the aligned opcode when we can which makes our test output more consistent between different modes. It also reduces the number of isel patterns we need.

This is a slight inconsistency with loads which default to 64 bit element opcodes. I'll probably rectify that in a future patch.

cb0e74975a [AVX-512] Remove patterns that select vmovdqu8/16 for unmasked loads. Prefer vmovdqa64/vmovdqu64 instead.
These were taking priority over the aligned load instructions since there is no vmovda8/16. I don't think there is really a difference between aligned and unaligned on newer cpus so I don't think it matters which instructions we use.

But with this change we reduce the size of the isel table a little and we allow the aligned information to pass through to the evex->vec pass and produce the same output has avx/avx2 in some cases.

I also generally dislike patterns rooted in a bitcast which these were.
