[NVPTX] add support for .debug_loc section (#110905)
Enable .debug_loc section for NVPTX backend.

This commit makes NVPTX omit DW_AT_low_pc (and DW_AT_high_pc) for
DW_TAG_compile_unit. This is because cuda-gdb uses the compile unit's
low_pc as a base address, and adds the addresses in the debug_loc
section to it. Removing low_pc is equivalent to setting that base
address to zero, so addition doesn't break the location ranges.
Additionally, this patch forces debug_loc label emission to emit single
labels with no subtraction or base. This would not be necessary if we
could emit `label1 - label2` expressions in PTX. The PTX documentation
at
https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/parallel-thread-execution/index.html#debugging-directives-section
makes it seem like this is supported, but it doesn't actually work. I
believe when that documentation says that you can subtract “label
addresses between labels in the same dwarf section”, it doesn't merely
mean that the labels need to be in the same section as each other, but
in fact they need to be in the same section as the use. If support for
label subtraction is supported such that in the debug_loc section you
can subtract labels from the main code section, then we can remove the
workarounds added in this PR.

Also, since this now emits valid .debug_loc sections, it replaces the
empty .debug_loc to force existence of at least one debug section with
an empty .debug_macinfo section, which matches what nvcc does.

[NFC] Use initial-stack-allocations for more data structures (#110544)
This replaces some of the most frequent offenders of using a DenseMap that
cause a malloc, where the typical element-count is small enough to fit in
an initial stack allocation.

Most of these are fairly obvious, one to highlight is the collectOffset
method of GEP instructions: if there's a GEP, of course it's going to have
at least one offset, but every time we've called collectOffset we end up
calling malloc as well for the DenseMap in the MapVector.

[llvm] use 64-bit types for result of getDwarfRegNum (NFC) (#109494)
The register encoding used by NVPTX and cuda-gdb basically use strings
encoded as numbers. They are always within 64-bits, but typically
outside of 32-bits, since they often need at least 5 characters.

This patch changes the signature of `MCRegisterInfo::getDwarfRegNum` and
some related data structures to use 64-bit numbers to accommodate
encodings like this.

Additionally, `MCRegisterInfo::getDwarfRegNum` is marked as virtual, so
that targets with peculiar dwarf register mapping schemes (such as
NVPTX) can override its behavior.

I originally tried to do a broader switch to 64-bit types for registers,
but it caused many problems. There are various places in code generation
where registers are not just treated as 32-bit numbers, but also treat
certain bit offsets as flags. So I limited the change as much as
possible to just the output of `getDwarfRegNum`. Keeping the types used
by `DwarfLLVMRegPair` as unsigned preserves the current behaviors. The
only way to give a 64-bit output from `getDwarfRegNum` that actually
needs more than 32-bits is to override `getDwarfRegNum` and provide an
implementation that sidesteps the use of the `DwarfLLVMRegPair` maps
defined in tablegen files.

[DebugInfo] Don't emit .loc directive with all values zero (#109978)
When emitting debug info for code alignment, it was possible to emit a
.loc directive with a file number of zero, which is invalid for DWARF 4
and earlier. This happened because getCurrentDwarfLoc() returned a
zero-initialised value when there hadn't been a previous .loc directive
emitted.

Reverted due to large .debug_line size regressions for some
configurations; work currently in place to improve the output of this
behaviour in PR #108251.

This patch also modifies two tests that were created or modified after
the original commit landed and are affected by the revert:

  llvm/test/CodeGen/X86/pseudo_cmov_lower2.ll
  llvm/test/DebugInfo/X86/empty-line-info.ll

[DWARF] Emit a minimal line-table for totally empty functions (#107267)
In degenerate but legal inputs, we can have functions that have no source
locations at all -- all the DebugLocs attached to instructions are empty.
LLVM didn't produce any source location for the function; with this patch
it will at least emit the function-scope source location. Demonstrated by
empty-line-info.ll

The XCOFF test modified has similar symptoms -- with this patch, the size
of the ".dwline" section grows a bit, thus shifting some of the file
internal offsets, which I've updated.

[DWARF] Identify prologue_end by instruction rather than DILocation (#107264)
Currently, we identify the end of the prologue as being "the instruction
that first has *this* DebugLoc". It works well enough, but I feel
identifying a position in a function is best communicated by a
MachineInstr. Plus, I've got some patches coming that depend upon this.

Seemingly this goes back to fd07a2a in 2015 -- I anticipate that back
then the metadata layout was radically different. But nowadays at least, we
can just directly look up the subprogram.

[DebugInfo][DWARF] Set is_stmt on first non-line-0 instruction in BB (#105524)

This patch adds the is_stmt flag to line table entries for the first
instruction with a non-0 line location in each basic block, to ensure
that it will be used for stepping even if the last instruction in the
previous basic block had the same line number; this is important for
cases where the new BB is reachable from BBs other than the preceding
block.

[DebugInfo] (Always) include the dwo name in the hash (#100375)
Since ce0c205813c74b4225180ac8a6e40fd52ea88229, we are doing that if a
single (LTO) compilation contains more than one compile unit, but the
same thing can happen if the non-lto and single-cu lto compilations,
typically when the CU ends up (nearly) empty. In my case, this happened
when LTO emptied two compile units.

Note that the source file name is already a part of the hash, so this
can only happen when a single file is compiled and linked twice into the
same application (most likely with different preprocessor defintiions).
While not exactly common, this pattern is used by some C code to
implement "templates".

The 2017 patch already hinted at the possibility of doing this
unconditionally, and this patch implements that. While the DWARF spec
hints at the option of using the type signature hashing algorithm for
the DWO_id purposes, AFAICT it does not actually require it, so I
believe this change is still conforming.

The relevant section of the spec is in Section 3.1.2 "Skeleton
Compilation Unit Entries" (in non-normative text):

The means of determining a compilation unit ID does not need to be
similar or related to the means of determining a type unit signature.
However, it should be suitable for detecting file version skew or other
kinds of mismatched files and for looking up a full split unit in a
DWARF package file (see Section 7.3.5 on page 190).
```

This avoids another unserializable field. Move the DbgInfoAvailable
field into the AsmPrinter, which is only really a cache/convenience
bit for checking a direct IR module metadata check.

[PS4/PS5][Driver][DWARF] Always emit .debug_aranges for SCE tuning (#100160)
Some of SIE's post-mortem analysis infrastructure currently makes use of
.debug_aranges, so we'd like to ensure the section's presence in
PlayStation binaries. The simplest way to do this is to force emission
when the debugger tuning is set to SCE (which is in turn typically
initialized from the target triple). This also simplifies the driver.

llvm/test/DebugInfo/debuglineinfo-path.ll has been marked as UNSUPPORTED
on PlayStation. When aranges are emitted, the DWARF in the test case is
such that relocations need to be applied to the aranges section in order
for symbolization to work. An alternative approach would be to implement
the application of relocations in DWARFDebugArangeSet. While experiments
show that this can be made to work with a modest patch, the test cases
would be rather contrived. Since I expect the only utility for such a
change would be to make this test case pass for PlayStation targets, and
few - if any - outside of PlayStation care about aranges, UNSUPPORTED
would seem to be a more practical option.

This was originally commited as 22eb290a96 (#99629) and later reverted
at 84658fb82b (#99711) due to test failures on SIE built bots. These
failures shouldn't recur due to 3b24e5d450 (#99897) and the
aforementioned change to debuglineinfo-path.ll.

[BasicBlockSections] Using MBBSectionID as DenseMap key (#97295)
getSectionIDNum may return same value for two different MBBSectionID.
e.g. A Cold type MBBSectionID with number 0 and a Default type
MBBSectionID with number 2 get same value 2 from getSectionIDNum. This
may lead to overwrite of MBBSectionRanges.  Using MBBSectionID itself
as DenseMap key is better choice.

21101b32318647f600584d966c697d8773f59629 (2013) added SymbolOrdering,
which essentially became useless when
e3a20f57d927e422874a8e7730bb7590515b586d (2015) removed `AssignSection`
from `EmitLabel`. `assignFragment` is still used in very few places like
emitTBSSSymbol, which do not make a difference if we remove
SymbolOrdering.

[MC] Remove SectionKind from MCSection (#96067)
There are only three actual uses of the section kind in MCSection:
isText(), XCOFF, and WebAssembly. Store isText() in the MCSection, and
store other info in the actual section variants where required.

ELF and COFF flags also encode all relevant information, so for these
two section variants, remove the SectionKind parameter entirely.

This allows to remove the string switch (which is unnecessary and
inaccurate) from createELFSectionImpl. This was introduced in
[D133456](https://reviews.llvm.org/D133456), but apparently, it was
never hit for non-writable sections anyway and the resulting kind was
never used.

Use DICompositeType to represent the template alias, using its extraData
field as a tuple of DITemplateParameter to describe the template
parameters.

[CallSiteInfo][NFC] CallSiteInfo -> CallSiteInfo.ArgRegPairs (#86842)
CallSiteInfo is originally used only for argument - register pairs. Make
it struct, in which we can store additional data for call sites.

Also, the variables/methods used for CallSiteInfo are named for its
original use case, e.g., CallFwdRegsInfo. Refactor these for the
upcoming
use, e.g. addCallArgsForwardingRegs() -> addCallSiteInfo().

An upcoming patch will add type ids for indirect calls to propogate them
from
middle-end to the back-end. The type ids will be then used to emit the
call
graph section.

[LLVM][DWARF] Fix accelerator table switching between CU and TU (#77511)
Bug 1 is triggered when a TU is already created, and we process the same
DICompositeType at a top level. We would switch to TU accelerator table,
but
would not switch back on early exit. As the result we would add CU
entries to the TU
accelerator table. When we try to write out TUs and normalize entries,
the
offsets for DIEs that are part of a CU would not have been computed, and
it
would assert on getOffset().

Bug 2 is triggered when processing nested TUs. When we exit from
addDwarfTypeUnitType we switched back to CU accelerator table. If we
were processing nested TUs, the rest of the entries from TUs would be
added to CU accelerator table. When we write out TUs, all the DIE
pointers will become invalid. Eventually it will assert during
normalization step after CU is processed.

This is a follow-up for https://reviews.llvm.org/D144006, fixing a crash
reported
in Chromium (https://reviews.llvm.org/D144006#4651955).

The first commit is added for convenience, as it has already been
accepted.

If DISubpogram was not cloned (e.g. we are cloning a function that has
other
functions inlined into it, and subprograms of the inlined functions are
not supposed to be cloned), it doesn't make sense to clone its
DILocalVariables as well.
Otherwise get duplicated DILocalVariables not tracked in their
subprogram's retainedNodes, that crash LTO with Chromium.

This is meant to be committed along with
https://reviews.llvm.org/D144006.

[LLVM][DWARF] Add compilation directory and dwo name to TU in dwo section (#74909)
This adds support to help LLDB when binary is built with split dwarf,
has
.debug_names accelerator table and DWP file.
Final linked binary might have Type Units (TUs) with the same type
signature in multiple
compilation units. Although the signature is the same, TUs are not
guranted to
be bit identical. This is not a problem when they are in .o/.dwo files
as LLDB
can find them by looking at the right one based on
DW_AT_comp_dir/DW_AT_name in
skeleton CU. Once DWP is created, TUs are de-duplicated, and we need to
know
from which CU remaining one came from.

This approach allows LLDB to figure it out, with minimal changes to the
rest of
the tooling. As would have been the case if .debug_tu_index section in
DWP was
modified.

Similar to imported declarations, the patch tracks function-local types in
DISubprogram's 'retainedNodes' field. DwarfDebug is adjusted in accordance with
the aforementioned metadata change and provided a support of function-local
types scoped within a lexical block.

The patch assumes that DICompileUnit's 'enums field' no longer tracks local
types and DwarfDebug would assert if any locally-scoped types get placed there.

[LLVM[NFC] Refactor to allow debug_names entries to conatain DIE offset (#69399)
This is pre-cursor patch to enabling type units with DWARF5 acceleration
tables.
With this change it allows for entries to contain offsets directly, this
way type
units do not need to be preserved until .debug_names is written out.

[ADT] Rename llvm::erase_value to llvm::erase (NFC) (#70156)
C++20 comes with std::erase to erase a value from std::vector.  This
patch renames llvm::erase_value to llvm::erase for consistency with
C++20.

We could make llvm::erase more similar to std::erase by having it
return the number of elements removed, but I'm not doing that for now
because nobody seems to care about that in our code base.

Since there are only 50 occurrences of erase_value in our code base,
this patch replaces all of them with llvm::erase and deprecates
llvm::erase_value.

eee1f7cef8 Revert "[DebugMetadata][DwarfDebug] Support function-local types in lexical block scopes (4/7)"
This caused asserts:

  llvm/lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/DwarfDebug.cpp:2331:
  virtual void llvm::DwarfDebug::endFunctionImpl(const llvm::MachineFunction *):
  Assertion `LScopes.getAbstractScopesList().size() == NumAbstractSubprograms &&
  "getOrCreateAbstractScope() inserted an abstract subprogram scope"' failed.

Similar to imported declarations, the patch tracks function-local types in
DISubprogram's 'retainedNodes' field. DwarfDebug is adjusted in accordance with
the aforementioned metadata change and provided a support of function-local
types scoped within a lexical block.

The patch assumes that DICompileUnit's 'enums field' no longer tracks local
types and DwarfDebug would assert if any locally-scoped types get placed there.

[NFC][AsmPrinter] Refactor FrameIndexExprs as a std::set (#66433)
This avoids the need for a mutable member to implement deferred sorting,
and some bespoke code to maintain a SmallVector as a set.

The performance impact seems to be negligible in some small tests, and
so seems acceptable to greatly simplify the code.

An old FIXME and accompanying workaround are dropped. It is ostensibly
dead-code within the current codebase.

9811ffe7d0 [DebugInfo] Process single-location debug values in variadic form when producing DWARF
Revision c383f4d6550e enabled using variadic-form debug values to represent
single-location, non-stack-value debug values, and a further patch made all
DBG_INSTR_REFs use variadic form. Not all code paths were updated correctly to
handle the new syntax however, with entry values in still expecting an expression
that begins exactly DW_OP_LLVM_entry_value, 1.

A function already exists to select non-variadic-like expressions; this patch
adds an extra function to cheaply simplify such cases to non-variadic form, which
we use prior to any entry-value processing to put DBG_INSTR_REFs and DBG_VALUEs
down the same code path. We also use it for a few DIExpression functions that
check for whether the first element(s) of a DIExpression match a particular
pattern, so that they will return the same result for
DIExpression(DW_OP_LLVM_arg, 0, <ops>) as for DIExpression(<ops>).

bc5dac1743 [AsmPrinter][DwarfDebug] Skip vars with fragments in different location kinds
The AsmPrinter currently assumes that a Debug Variable will have all of its
fragments with the same "kind" of location (i.e. all in the stack or all in
entry values). This is not enforced by the verifier, so it needs to be handled
properly. Until we do so, we conservatively drop one of the fragments.
