[clang] Improve nested name specifier AST representation (#147835)
This is a major change on how we represent nested name qualifications in
the AST.

* The nested name specifier itself and how it's stored is changed. The
prefixes for types are handled within the type hierarchy, which makes
canonicalization for them super cheap, no memory allocation required.
Also translating a type into nested name specifier form becomes a no-op.
An identifier is stored as a DependentNameType. The nested name
specifier gains a lightweight handle class, to be used instead of
passing around pointers, which is similar to what is implemented for
TemplateName. There is still one free bit available, and this handle can
be used within a PointerUnion and PointerIntPair, which should keep
bit-packing aficionados happy.
* The ElaboratedType node is removed, all type nodes in which it could
previously apply to can now store the elaborated keyword and name
qualifier, tail allocating when present.
* TagTypes can now point to the exact declaration found when producing
these, as opposed to the previous situation of there only existing one
TagType per entity. This increases the amount of type sugar retained,
and can have several applications, for example in tracking module
ownership, and other tools which care about source file origins, such as
IWYU. These TagTypes are lazily allocated, in order to limit the
increase in AST size.

This patch offers a great performance benefit.

It greatly improves compilation time for
[stdexec](https://github.com/NVIDIA/stdexec). For one datapoint, for
`test_on2.cpp` in that project, which is the slowest compiling test,
this patch improves `-c` compilation time by about 7.2%, with the
`-fsyntax-only` improvement being at ~12%.

This has great results on compile-time-tracker as well:

![image](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/700dce98-2cab-4aa8-97d1-b038c0bee831)

This patch also further enables other optimziations in the future, and
will reduce the performance impact of template specialization resugaring
when that lands.

It has some other miscelaneous drive-by fixes.

About the review: Yes the patch is huge, sorry about that. Part of the
reason is that I started by the nested name specifier part, before the
ElaboratedType part, but that had a huge performance downside, as
ElaboratedType is a big performance hog. I didn't have the steam to go
back and change the patch after the fact.

There is also a lot of internal API changes, and it made sense to remove
ElaboratedType in one go, versus removing it from one type at a time, as
that would present much more churn to the users. Also, the nested name
specifier having a different API avoids missing changes related to how
prefixes work now, which could make existing code compile but not work.

How to review: The important changes are all in
`clang/include/clang/AST` and `clang/lib/AST`, with also important
changes in `clang/lib/Sema/TreeTransform.h`.

The rest and bulk of the changes are mostly consequences of the changes
in API.

PS: TagType::getDecl is renamed to `getOriginalDecl` in this patch, just
for easier to rebasing. I plan to rename it back after this lands.

[clang] odr-checker fix for conversion operators (#146153)
This fixes an issue with the ODR checker not using the as-written type
of conversion operators.

The odr-checker in general should not have to deal with canonical types,
as its purpose is to compare same definitions across TUs, and these need
to be same as written, with few exceptions.

Using canonical types is specially problematic when expressions are
involved, as the types which refer to them generally pick an arbitrary
representative expression, and this can lead to false mismatches.

This patch makes sure that when hashing the names of declarations, if a
DeclarationNameInfo is available, its type source info is used, instead
of the type contained in the DeclarationName, which otherwise is always
canonical.

This patch supersedes #144796, as it fixes the problem without weakening
the ODR checker.

Reland: [clang] preserve class type sugar when taking pointer to member (#132401)
Original PR: #130537
Originally reverted due to revert of dependent commit. Relanding with no
changes.

This changes the MemberPointerType representation to use a
NestedNameSpecifier instead of a Type to represent the base class.

Since the qualifiers are always parsed as nested names, there was an
impedance mismatch when converting these back and forth into types, and
this led to issues in preserving sugar.

The nested names are indeed a better match for these, as the differences
which a QualType can represent cannot be expressed syntatically, and
they represent the use case more exactly, being either dependent or
referring to a CXXRecord, unqualified.

This patch also makes the MemberPointerType able to represent sugar for
a {up/downcast}cast conversion of the base class, although for now the
underlying type is canonical, as preserving the sugar up to that point
requires further work.

As usual, includes a few drive-by fixes in order to make use of the
improvements.

[Serialization] Support loading template specializations lazily (#119333)
Reland https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/83237

---

(Original comments)

Currently all the specializations of a template (including
instantiation, specialization and partial specializations) will be
loaded at once if we want to instantiate another instance for the
template, or find instantiation for the template, or just want to
complete the redecl chain.

This means basically we need to load every specializations for the
template once the template declaration got loaded. This is bad since
when we load a specialization, we need to load all of its template
arguments. Then we have to deserialize a lot of unnecessary
declarations.

For example,

```
// M.cppm
export module M;
export template <class T>
class A {};
export class ShouldNotBeLoaded {};
export class Temp {
   A<ShouldNotBeLoaded> AS;
};
// use.cpp
import M;
A<int> a;
```

We have a specialization ` A<ShouldNotBeLoaded>` in `M.cppm` and we
instantiate the template `A` in `use.cpp`. Then we will deserialize
`ShouldNotBeLoaded` surprisingly when compiling `use.cpp`. And this
patch tries to avoid that.

Given that the templates are heavily used in C++, this is a pain point
for the performance.

This patch adds MultiOnDiskHashTable for specializations in the
ASTReader. Then we will only deserialize the specializations with the
same template arguments. We made that by using ODRHash for the template
arguments as the key of the hash table.

To review this patch, I think `ASTReaderDecl::AddLazySpecializations`
may be a good entry point.

The patch was reviewed in

review process. So I feel it is better to merge the commits into a

us to cherry-pick and revert.

[clang] Implement CWG2398 provisional TTP matching to class templates (#94981)
This extends default argument deduction to cover class templates as
well, applying only to partial ordering, adding to the provisional
wording introduced in https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/89807.

This solves some ambuguity introduced in P0522 regarding how template
template parameters are partially ordered, and should reduce the
negative impact of enabling `-frelaxed-template-template-args` by
default.

Given the following example:
```C++
template <class T1, class T2 = float> struct A;
template <class T3> struct B;
template <template <class T4> class TT1, class T5> struct B<TT1<T5>>;   // #1
template <class T6, class T7>                      struct B<A<T6, T7>>; // #2
template struct B<A<int>>;
```
Prior to P0522, `#2` was picked. Afterwards, this became ambiguous. This
patch restores the pre-P0522 behavior, `#2` is picked again.

[clang] Preserve Qualifiers and type sugar in TemplateNames (#93433)
This patch improves the preservation of qualifiers and loss of type
sugar in TemplateNames.

This problem is analogous to https://reviews.llvm.org/D112374 and this
patch takes a very similar approach to that patch, except the impact
here is much lesser.

When a TemplateName was written bare, without qualifications, we
wouldn't produce a QualifiedTemplate which could be used to disambiguate
it from a Canonical TemplateName. This had effects in the TemplateName
printer, which had workarounds to deal with this, and wouldn't print the
TemplateName as-written in most situations.

There are also some related fixes to help preserve this type sugar along
the way into diagnostics, so that this patch can be properly tested.

- Fix dropping the template keyword.
- Fix type deduction to preserve sugar in TST TemplateNames.

This allows template parameter packs to have default arguments in the

This will be used in a later patch which synthesizes template parameter
lists with arbitrary default arguments taken from template
specializations.

There are a few places we used SubsType, because we only had a type, now
we use SubstTemplateArgument.
SubstTemplateArgument was missing arguments for setting Instantiation
location and entity names.
Adding those is needed so we don't regress in diagnostics.

[HLSL] Implement array temporary support (#79382)
HLSL constant sized array function parameters do not decay to pointers.
Instead constant sized array types are preserved as unique types for
overload resolution, template instantiation and name mangling.

This implements the change by adding a new `ArrayParameterType` which
represents a non-decaying `ConstantArrayType`. The new type behaves the
same as `ConstantArrayType` except that it does not decay to a pointer.

Values of `ConstantArrayType` in HLSL decay during overload resolution
via a new `HLSLArrayRValue` cast to `ArrayParameterType`.

`ArrayParamterType` values are passed indirectly by-value to functions
in IR generation resulting in callee generated memcpy instructions.

The behavior of HLSL function calls is documented in the [draft language
specification](https://microsoft.github.io/hlsl-specs/specs/hlsl.pdf)
under the Expr.Post.Call heading.

Additionally the design of this implementation approach is documented in
[Clang's
documentation](https://clang.llvm.org/docs/HLSL/FunctionCalls.html)

This commit incorporates 4b574008aef5a7235c1f894ab065fe300d26e786 and
18e093faf726d15f210ab4917142beec51848258 by Richard Smith (@zygoloid),
with some minor fixes, most notably:

- `UncommonValue` renamed to `StructuralValue`

- `VK_PRValue` instead of `VK_RValue` as default kind in lvalue and
member pointer handling branch in
`BuildExpressionFromNonTypeTemplateArgumentValue`;

- handling of `StructuralValue` in `IsTypeDeclaredInsideVisitor`;

- filling in `SugaredConverted` along with `CanonicalConverted`
parameter in `Sema::CheckTemplateArgument`;

- minor cleanup in
`TemplateInstantiator::transformNonTypeTemplateParmRef`;

- `TemplateArgument` constructors refactored;

- `ODRHash` calculation for `UncommonValue`;

- USR generation for `UncommonValue`;

- more correct MS compatibility mangling algorithm (tested on MSVC ver.
19.35; toolset ver. 143);

- IR emitting fixed on using a subobject as a template argument when the
corresponding template parameter is used in an lvalue context;

- `noundef` attribute and opaque pointers in `template-arguments` test;

- analysis for C++17 mode is turned off for templates in
`warn-bool-conversion` test; in C++17 and C++20 mode, array reference
used as a template argument of pointer type produces template argument
of UncommonValue type, and
`BuildExpressionFromNonTypeTemplateArgumentValue` makes
`OpaqueValueExpr` for it, and `DiagnoseAlwaysNonNullPointer` cannot see
through it; despite of "These cases should not warn" comment, I'm not
sure about correct behavior; I'd expect a suggestion to replace `if` by
`if constexpr`;

- `temp.arg.nontype/p1.cpp` and `dr18xx.cpp` tests fixed.

[ODRHash] Stop hashing ObjCMethodDecl::isOverriding as it doesn't capture inherent method quality.
`isOverriding` depends on the surrounding code and not on the method
itself. That's why it can be different in different modules. And
mismatches shouldn't be an error.

e52a8b89ad [NFC][clang] Fix static analyzer concerns about AUTO_CAUSES_COPY
Reported by Coverity:

AUTO_CAUSES_COPY
Unnecessary object copies can affect performance

1. Inside "ODRHash.cpp" file, in clang::ODRHash::AddCXXRecordDecl(clang::CXXRecordDecl const *): Using the auto keyword without an & causes the copy of an object of type CXXBaseSpecifier.

2. Inside "Tokens.cpp" file, in clang::syntax::TokenBuffer::dumpForTests[abi:cxx11](): Using the auto keyword without an & causes the copy of an object of type DenseMapPair.

3. Inside "TargetID.cpp" file, in clang::getCanonicalTargetID[abi:cxx11](llvm::StringRef, llvm::StringMap<bool, llvm::MallocAllocator> const &): Using the auto keyword without an & causes the copy of an object of type pair.

d78a7c5012 [ODRHash] Handle Integral and NullPtr template parameters in ODRHash
Before this patch the parameters mentioned in the title weren't
handled by ODRHash, when a hash was generated for a template
specialization. This patch adds these parameters to the hash,
so that different template specializations will get different
hashes in every case.

[clang] Track the templated entity in type substitution.
This is a change to how we represent type subsitution in the AST.
Instead of only storing the replaced type, we track the templated
entity we are substituting, plus an index.
We modify MLTAL to track the templated entity at each level.

Otherwise, it's much more expensive to go from the template parameter back
to the templated entity, and not possible to do in some cases, as when
we instantiate outer templates, parameters might still reference the
original entity.

This also allows us to very cheaply lookup the templated entity we saw in
the naming context and find the corresponding argument it was replaced
from, such as for implementing template specialization resugaring.

60727d8569 [C2x] implement typeof and typeof_unqual
This implements WG14 N2927 and WG14 N2930, which together define the
feature for typeof and typeof_unqual, which get the type of their
argument as either fully qualified or fully unqualified. The argument
to either operator is either a type name or an expression. If given a
type name, the type information is pulled directly from the given name.
If given an expression, the type information is pulled from the
expression. Recursive use of these operators is allowed and has the
expected behavior (the innermost operator is resolved to a type, and
that's used to resolve the next layer of typeof specifier, until a
fully resolved type is determined.

Note, we already supported typeof in GNU mode as a non-conforming
extension and we are *not* exposing typeof_unqual as a non-conforming
extension in that mode, nor are we exposing typeof or typeof_unqual as
a nonconforming extension in other language modes. The GNU variant of
typeof supports a form where the parentheses are elided from the
operator when given an expression (e.g., typeof 0 i = 12;). When in C2x
mode, we do not support this extension.

6ba1b9075d Reland "[AST] Add a new TemplateKind for template decls found via a using decl.""
This is the template version of https://reviews.llvm.org/D114251.

This patch introduces a new template name kind (UsingTemplateName). The
UsingTemplateName stores the found using-shadow decl (and underlying
template can be retrieved from the using-shadow decl). With the new
template name, we can be able to find the using decl that a template
typeloc (e.g. TemplateSpecializationTypeLoc) found its underlying template,
which is useful for tooling use cases (include cleaner etc).

This patch merely focuses on adding the node to the AST.

Next steps:
- support using-decl in qualified template name;
- update the clangd and other tools to use this new node;
- add ast matchers for matching different kinds of template names;
