Reland [MS][clang] Add support for vector deleting destructors (#133451)
Whereas it is UB in terms of the standard to delete an array of objects
via pointer whose static type doesn't match its dynamic type, MSVC
supports an extension allowing to do it.
Aside from array deletion not working correctly in the mentioned case,
currently not having this extension implemented causes clang to generate
code that is not compatible with the code generated by MSVC, because
clang always puts scalar deleting destructor to the vftable. This PR
aims to resolve these problems.

It was reverted due to link time errors in chromium with sanitizer
coverage enabled,
which is fixed by https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/131929 .

The second commit of this PR also contains a fix for a runtime failure
in chromium reported
in
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/126240#issuecomment-2730216384
.

[PATCH] [clang][frontend] Fix serialization for CXXConstructorDecl (refs llvm#132794) (#133077)
When retrieving the ExplicitSpecifier from a CXXConstructorDecl, one of
its canonical declarations is returned. To correctly write the
declaration record the ExplicitSpecifier of the current declaration must
be used.

Failing to do so results in a crash during deserialization.

The File ID is incorrectly calculated, resulting in an out-of-bounds
access. The test code is more complex because the File fetching only
happens in specific scenarios.

[clang][modules] Correctly set module map systemness (#131940)
This uses the systemness of the module map instead of of the Module
instance, as doing otherwise could incorrectly parse the other modules
in that module map as system.

This is still correct as the only ways to get a system module are by the
module map being in a system path, or the module having the [system]
attribute, both of which are handled here.

This makes it so that the systemness of a module is deterministic
instead of depending on the path taken to build it.

[C++20][Modules] Prevent premature calls to PassInterestingDeclsToConsumer() within FinishedDeserializing(). (#129982)
`ASTReader::FinishedDeserializing` uses `NumCurrentElementsDeserializing` to keep track of nested `Deserializing` RAII actions. The `FinishedDeserializing` only performs actions if it is the top-level `Deserializing` layer. This works fine in general, but there is a problematic edge case.

If a call to `redecls()` in `FinishedDeserializing` performs deserialization, we re-enter `FinishedDeserializing` while in the middle of the previous `FinishedDeserializing` call.

The known problematic part of this is that this inner `FinishedDeserializing` can go all the way to `PassInterestingDeclsToConsumer`, which operates on `PotentiallyInterestingDecls` data structure which contain decls that should be handled by the previous `FinishedDeserializing` stage.

The other shared data structures are also somewhat concerning at a high-level in that the inner `FinishedDeserializing` would be handling pending actions that are not "within its scope", but this part is not known to be problematic.

We already have a guard within `PassInterestingDeclsToConsumer` because we can end up with recursive deserialization within `PassInterestingDeclsToConsumer`. The implemented solution is to apply this guard to the portion of `FinishedDeserializing` that performs further deserialization as well. This ensures that recursive deserialization does not trigger `PassInterestingDeclsToConsumer` which may operate on entries that are not ready to be passed.

I was intending to fix this after it gets merged into the ItaniumC++ABI
formally. But it looks like ItaniumC++ABI doesn't update it yet and
there are more issue reports for it.

Luckily Richard had a clear direction guide here though. So I think it
should be good to do this without a formal ItaniumC++ABI wording.

The diff of the patch is slightly larger than it was by a simple
refacoration to simple the control flow a little bit.

34f4ee7c0d [C++20] [Modules] Merge codes to decide if we should generate decl
There are two piece of codes in ASTWriterDecl to decide whether or not
we should generate a function or a variable in current module unit (or
PCH with object file extension, which is rarely used). One is in
Visit*Decl and One is in `CanElideDef`. Since they are similar it should
be better to merge them.

This was meant to be a NFC patch. But it seems it helped me to find an
existing bug.

It is still better to elide the declaration if possible. To overcome the
false positive undefinedButUsed diagnostic, it seems better to not add

[C++20] [Modules] Instantiate pending instantiations when GMF ends (#126842)

The cause of the problem is, when we instantiate the pending
instantiation, the owning module of the TU gets into 'foo' instead of
the GMF.

The concern of the patch is, I am not sure the point of 'pending'
instantiations. I mean, if there is a reason we **must** pending the
intantiations to the end of the TU.

[clang] Fix ASTWriter crash after merging named enums (#114240)
Clang already removes parsed enumerators when merging typedefs to
anonymous enums. This is why the following example decl used to be
handled correctly while merging, and ASTWriter behaves as expected:

```c
typedef enum { Val } AnonEnum;
```
However, the mentioned mechanism didn't handle named enums. This leads
to stale declarations in `IdResolver`, causing an assertion violation in
ASTWriter ``Assertion `DeclIDs.contains(D) && "Declaration not
emitted!"' failed`` when a module is being serialized with the following
example merged enums:

```c
typedef enum Enum1 { Val_A } Enum1;
enum Enum2 { Val_B };
```

The PR applies the same mechanism in the named enums case.

Additionally, I dropped the call to
`getLexicalDeclContext()->removeDecl` as it was causing a wrong
odr-violation diagnostic with anonymous enums.

Might be easier to to review commit by commit. Any feedback is
appreciated.

### Context

This fixes frontend crashes that were encountered when certain
Objective-C modules are included on Xcode 16. For example, by running
`CC=/path/to/clang-19 xcodebuild clean build` on a project that contains
the following Objective-C file:

```c
#include <os/atomic.h>

int main() {
  return memory_order_relaxed;
}
```
This crashes the parser in release, when ASTReader tries to load the
enumerator declaration.

[clang] Implement instantiation context note for checking template parameters (#126088)
Instead of manually adding a note pointing to the relevant template
parameter to every relevant error, which is very easy to miss, this
patch adds a new instantiation context note, so that this can work using
RAII magic.

This fixes a bunch of places where these notes were missing, and is more
future-proof.

Some diagnostics are reworked to make better use of this note:
- Errors about missing template arguments now refer to the parameter
which is missing an argument.
- Template Template parameter mismatches now refer to template
parameters as parameters instead of arguments.

It's likely this will add the note to some diagnostics where the
parameter is not super relevant, but this can be reworked with time and
the decrease in maintenance burden makes up for it.

This bypasses the templight dumper for the new context entry, as the
tests are very hard to update.

This depends on #125453, which is needed to avoid losing the context
note for errors occuring during template argument deduction.

[C++20] [Modules] Support generating in-class defined function with try-catch body (#129212)
See the example:

```

We woudln't generate the definition for `C::member` but we should. Since
the function is non-inline in modules.

This turns out to be an oversight in parser to me. Since the try-catch
body is relatively rare, so maybe we just forgot it.

This can be used to trigger implicit module map lookup without also
importing the module. This can be useful for debugging as it avoids
loading the module map from the AST file, which has slightly different
semantics.

[clang][modules] Separate parsing of modulemaps (#119740)
This separates out parsing of modulemaps from updating the
`clang::ModuleMap` information.

Currently this has no effect other than slightly changing diagnostics.
Upcoming changes will use this to allow searching for modules without
fully processing modulemaps.


This creates a new `modulemap` namespace because there are too many
things called ModuleMap* right now that mean different things. I'd like
to clean this up, but I'm not sure yet what I want to call everything.

This also drops the `SourceLocation` from `moduleMapFileRead`. This is
never used in tree, and in future patches I plan to make the modulemap
parser use a different `SourceManager` so that we can share modulemap
parsing between `CompilerInstance`s. This will make the `SourceLocation`
meaningless.

[clang] Improve module out of date error message (#128103)
When a pcm file has a different size or modification time than it had
when it was written to another module's IMPORT table Clang emits:

`<pcm> is out of date and needs to be rebuilt: module file out of date`

This is difficult to understand what's happening because there are a lot
of reasons that a module file can be out of date. This changes the
latter part of that message to:

`module file has a different size or mtime than expected`

Which makes it clearer what the issue is. For future work it would be
nice if a more detailed explanation of the issue could be emitted as a
note instead.

[clang][modules] Fix local submodule visibility of macros from transitive import (#122955)
When we mark a module visible, we normally mark all of its non-explicit
submodules and other exports as visible. However, when we first enter a
submodule we should not make them visible to the submodule itself until
they are actually imported. Marking exports visible before import would
cause bizarre behaviour with local submodule visibility, because it
happened before we discovered the submodule's transitive imports and
could fail to make them visible in the parent module depending on
whether the submodules involved were explicitly defined (module X) or
implicitly defined from an umbrella (module *).

[clang][Sema] Fix initialization of NonTypeTemplateParmDecl... (#121768)
...when there are invalid constraints.

When attaching a `TypeConstraint`, in case of error, the trailing
pointer that is supposed to point to the constraint is left
uninitialized.
Sometimes the uninitialized value will be a `nullptr`, but at other
times it will not. If we traverse the AST (for instance, dumping it, or
when writing the BMI), we may get a crash depending on the value that
was left. The serialization may also contain a bogus value.

In this commit, we always initialize the `PlaceholderTypeConstraint`
with `nullptr`, to avoid accessing this uninitialized memory.

This does not affect only modules, but it causes a segfault more
consistently when they are involved.

The test case was reduced from `mp-units`.

[C++20][Modules][Serialization] Delay marking pending incomplete decl chains until the end of finishPendingActions. (#121245)
The call to `hasBody` inside `finishPendingActions` that bumps the `PendingIncompleteDeclChains`
size from `0` to `1`, and also sets the `LazyVal->LastGeneration` to `6` which matches
the `LazyVal->ExternalSource->getGeneration()` value of `6`. Later, the iterations over `redecls()`
(which calls `getNextRedeclaration`) is expected to trigger the reload, but it **does not** since
the generation numbers match.

The proposed solution is to perform the marking of incomplete decl chains at the end of `finishPendingActions`.
This way, **all** of the incomplete decls are marked incomplete as a post-condition of `finishPendingActions`.
It's also safe to delay this operation since any operation being done within `finishPendingActions` has
`NumCurrentElementsDeserializing == 1`, which means that any calls to `CompleteDeclChain` would simply
add to the `PendingIncompleteDeclChains` without doing anything anyway.

[clang] disallow narrowing when matching template template parameters (#124313)
This fixes the core issue described in P3579, following the design
intent of P0522 to not introduce any new cases where a template template
parameter match is allowed for a template which is not valid for all
possible uses.

With this patch, narrowing conversions are disallowed for TTP matching.

This reuses the existing machinery for diagnosing narrowing in a
converted constant expression.
Since P0522 is a DR and we apply it all the way back to C++98, this
brings that machinery to use in older standards, in this very narrow
scope of TTP matching.

This still doesn't solve the ambiguity when partial ordering NTTPs of
different integral types, this is blocked by a different bug which will
be fixed in a subsequent patch (but the test cases are added).

'value-parameter-DEPTH-INDEX',
similar to how type parameters are printed.

ast-dump: A bareDeclRef to an anonymous entity will print some extra
identifying information,
instead of an empty name, like indexes.
Falls back to source locations if nothing else is available.

due to interdependencies.

[clang] Finish implementation of P0522

This finishes the clang implementation of P0522, getting rid
of the fallback to the old, pre-P0522 rules.

Before this patch, when partial ordering template template parameters,
we would perform, in order:
* If the old rules would match, we would accept it. Otherwise, don't
  generate diagnostics yet.
* If the new rules would match, just accept it. Otherwise, don't
  generate any diagnostics yet again.
* Apply the old rules again, this time with diagnostics.

This situation was far from ideal, as we would sometimes:
* Accept some things we shouldn't.
* Reject some things we shouldn't.
* Only diagnose rejection in terms of the old rules.

With this patch, we apply the P0522 rules throughout.

This needed to extend template argument deduction in order
to accept the historial rule for TTP matching pack parameter to non-pack
arguments.
This change also makes us accept some combinations of historical and P0522
allowances we wouldn't before.

It also fixes a bunch of bugs that were documented in the test suite,
which I am not sure there are issues already created for them.

This causes a lot of changes to the way these failures are diagnosed,
with related test suite churn.

The problem here is that the old rules were very simple and
non-recursive, making it easy to provide customized diagnostics,
and to keep them consistent with each other.

The new rules are a lot more complex and rely on template argument
deduction, substitutions, and they are recursive.

The approach taken here is to mostly rely on existing diagnostics,
and create a new instantiation context that keeps track of this context.

So for example when a substitution failure occurs, we use the error
produced there unmodified, and just attach notes to it explaining
that it occurred in the context of partial ordering this template
argument against that template parameter.

This diverges from the old diagnostics, which would lead with an
error pointing to the template argument, explain the problem
in subsequent notes, and produce a final note pointing to the parameter.

[clang] CWG2398: improve overload resolution backwards compat

With this change, we discriminate if the primary template and which partial
specializations would have participated in overload resolution prior to
P0522 changes.

We collect those in an initial set. If this set is not empty, or the
primary template would have matched, we proceed with this set as the
candidates for overload resolution.

Otherwise, we build a new overload set with everything else, and proceed
as usual.

I'm not sure why the test is larger for RISC-V than other targets, but
we saw this before with #111360.

[clang][modules] Partially revert 48d0eb518 to fix -gmodules output (#124003)
With the changes in 48d0eb518, the CodeGenOptions used to emit .pcm
files with -fmodule-format=obj (-gmodules) were the ones from the
original invocation, rather than the ones specifically crafted for
outputting the pcm. This was causing the pcm to be written with only the
debug info and without the __clangast section in some cases (e.g. -O2).
This unforunately was not covered by existing tests, because compiling
and loading a module within a single compilation load the ast content
from the in-memory module cache rather than reading it from the pcm file
that was written. This broke bootstrapping a build of clang with modules
enabled on Darwin.

The reason is, we thought the external explicit template instantiation
declaration as the external definition incorrectly.

[Clang] [NFC] Fix unintended -Wreturn-type warnings everywhere in the test suite (#123464)
In preparation of making `-Wreturn-type` default to an error (as there
is virtually no situation where you’d *want* to fall off the end of a
function that is supposed to return a value), this patch fixes tests
that have relied on this being only a warning, of which there seem 
to be 3 kinds:

1. Tests which for no apparent reason have a function that triggers the
warning.

I suspect that a lot of these were on accident (or from before the
warning was introduced), since a lot of people will open issues w/ their
problematic code in the `main` function (which is the one case where you
don’t need to return from a non-void function, after all...), which
someone will then copy, possibly into a namespace, possibly renaming it,
the end result of that being that you end up w/ something that
definitely is not `main` anymore, but which still is declared as
returning `int`, and which still has no return statement (another reason
why I think this might apply to a lot of these is because usually the
actual return type of such problematic functions is quite literally
`int`).
  
A lot of these are really old tests that don’t use `-verify`, which is
why no-one noticed or had to care about the extra warning that was
already being emitted by them until now.

2. Tests which test either `-Wreturn-type`, `[[noreturn]]`, or what
codegen and sanitisers do whenever you do fall off the end of a
function.

3. Tests where I struggle to figure out what is even being tested
(usually because they’re Objective-C tests, and I don’t know
Objective-C), whether falling off the end of a function matters in the
first place, and tests where actually spelling out an expression to
return would be rather cumbersome (e.g. matrix types currently don’t
support list initialisation, so I can’t write e.g. `return {}`).

For tests that fall into categories 2 and 3, I just added
`-Wno-error=return-type` to the `RUN` lines and called it a day. This
was especially necessary for the former since `-Wreturn-type` is an
analysis-based warning, meaning that it is currently impossible to test
for more than one occurrence of it in the same compilation if it
defaults to an error since the analysis pass is skipped for subsequent
functions as soon as an error is emitted.

I’ve also added `-Werror=return-type` to a few tests that I had already
updated as this patch was previously already making the warning an error
by default, but we’ve decided to split that into two patches instead.

[clang][PCH] Don't try to create standalone debug-info for types marked nodebug (#123253)
Fixes one of the crashes uncovered by
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/118710

`getOrCreateStandaloneType` asserts that a `DIType` was created for the
requested type. If the `Decl` was marked `nodebug`, however, we can't
generate debug-info for it, so we would previously trigger the assert.
For now keep the assertion around and check the `nodebug` at the
callsite.

[Modules] Delay deserialization of preferred_name attribute at r… (#122726)

This fixes the incorrect diagnostic emitted when compiling the following
snippet

The underlying issue is that deserialization of the `preferred_name`
attribute triggers deserialization of `basic_string_view<char>`, which
triggers the deserialization of the `preferred_name` attribute again
(since it's attached to the `basic_string_view` template).
The deserialization logic is implemented in a way that prevents it from
going on a loop in a literal sense (it detects early on that it has
already seen the `string_view` typedef when trying to start its
deserialization for the second time), but leaves the typedef
deserialization in an unfinished state. Subsequently, the `string_view`
typedef from the deserialized module cannot be merged with the same
typedef from `string_view.h`, resulting in the above diagnostic.

This PR resolves the problem by delaying the deserialization of the
`preferred_name` attribute until the deserialization of the
`basic_string_view` template is completed. As a result of deferring, the
deserialization of the `preferred_name` attribute doesn't need to go on
a loop since the type of the `string_view` typedef is already known when
it's deserialized.

[C++20] [Modules] Support module level lookup (#122887) (#123281)

This patch is also an optimization to the lookup process to utilize the
information provided by `export` keyword.

Previously, in the lookup process, the `export` keyword only takes part
in the check part, it doesn't get involved in the lookup process. That
said, previously, in a name lookup for 'name', we would load all of
declarations with the name 'name' and check if these declarations are
valid or not. It works well. But it is inefficient since it may load
declarations that may not be wanted.

Note that this patch actually did a trick in the lookup process instead
of bring module information to DeclarationName or considering module
information when deciding if two declarations are the same. So it may
not be a surprise to me if there are missing cases. But it is not a
regression. It should be already the case. Issue reports are welcomed.

In this patch, I tried to split the big lookup table into a lookup table
as before and a module local lookup table, which takes a combination of
the ID of the DeclContext and hash value of the primary module name as
the key. And refactored `DeclContext::lookup()` method to take the
module information. So that a lookup in a DeclContext won't load
declarations that are local to **other** modules.

And also I think it is already beneficial to split the big lookup table
since it may reduce the conflicts during lookups in the hash table.

BTW, this patch introduced a **regression** for a reachability rule in
C++20 but it was false-negative. See
'clang/test/CXX/module/module.interface/p7.cpp' for details.

This patch is not expected to introduce any other
regressions for non-c++20-modules users since the module local lookup
table should be empty for them.
