We can fold frame indexes directly into existing immediate operands,
just like is already done for s_add_i32. We happen to use s_add_i32 in
the 32-bit add case, but s_add_u32 appears in the a 64-bit add sequence
of a flat pointer if an addrpacecast source is a frame index.
This avoids, but does not address a failure exposed after
a3165398db0736588daedb07650195502592e567 where two literal operands
end up in the final instruction. The underlying issue still exists for
some instructions without special handling in eliminateFrameIndex.
[AMDGPU][NFC] Replace gfx940 and gfx941 with gfx942 in llvm/test
gfx940 and gfx941 are no longer supported. This is one of a series of PRs to remove them from the code base.
This PR uses gfx942 instead of gfx940 and gfx941 in the test RUN-lines (unless there is already a RUN-line for gfx942).
The only notable difference in the test output is that gfx942 does not force the use of sc0 and sc1 on stores while gfx940 and gfx941 do (cf. https://reviews.llvm.org/D149986).

APInt will fail when given a negative offset. SelectScratchSVAddr
utilizes this function and can be given a negative offset as well, so
this change modifies it to use APSInt instead.
Only select to a VGPR if it's trivally used in VGPR only contexts.
This fixes mishandling frame indexes used in SGPR only contexts,
like inline assembly constraints.
This is suboptimal in the common case where the frame index
is transitively used by only VALU ops. We make up for this by later
folding the copy to VALU plus scalar op in SIFoldOperands.
eliminateFrameIndex should now properly handle materializing
frame indices in SGPRs, so treat this like the other constant
operand types.
On average this will produce worse code; we need to detect
VGPR uses, and improve SGPR->VGPR frame index folds.
This reverts commit adaff46d087799072438dd744b038e6fd50a2d78.
Drop the -O3 checks from default-attributes.hip. I don't know why they
are different on some bots but reverting this is far too disruptive.
Removing it from the codegen pipeline induces a lot of test churn
because llc is no longer optimizing out implicit arguments to kernels.
Mostly mechanical, but there are some creative test updates. I preferred
to take the changes as-is in tests where the ABI isn't relevant. In
cases where it's more relevant, or the optimize out logic was too
ingrained in the test, I pre-run the optimization. Some cases manually
add attributes to disable inputs.
At the moment, the emergency spill slot is a fixed object for entry
functions and chain functions, and a regular stack object otherwise.
This patch adopts the latter behaviour for entry/chain functions too. It
seems this was always the intention [1] and it will also save us a bit
of stack space in cases where the first stack object has a large
alignment.

Update SIMemoryLegalizer and SIInsertWaitcnts to use separate wait
instructions per counter (e.g. S_WAIT_LOADCNT) and split VMCNT into
separate LOADCNT, SAMPLECNT and BVHCNT counters.
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/70634 has disabled use
of potentially negative scratch offsets, but we can use it on GFX12.

For IR files without a target triple, -mtriple= specifies the full
target triple while -march= merely sets the architecture part of the
default target triple, leaving a target triple which may not make sense,
e.g. amdgpu-apple-darwin.
Therefore, -march= is error-prone and not recommended for tests without
a target triple. The issue has been benign as we recognize
$unknown-apple-darwin as ELF instead of rejecting it outrightly.
This patch changes AMDGPU tests to not rely on the default
OS/environment components. Tests that need fixes are not changed:

For scratch load/store, our hardware only accept non-negative value in
SGPR/VGPR. Besides the case that we can prove from known bits, we can
also prove that the value in `base` will be non-negative: 1.) When the
ADD for the address calculation has NonUnsignedWrap flag. 2.) When the
immediate offset is already negative.
Values in SGPR and VGPR register are treated as unsigned by hardware.
When value in 32-bit SGPR or VGPR base can be negative calculate offset
using 32-bit add instructions, otherwise use
sgpr(unsigned) + vgpr(unsigned) + offset.
LoopStrengthReduce.cpp changes offsets to negative and in some
iterations value in SGPR or VGPR register could be negative.

Allows things like `(G_PTR_ADD (G_PTR_ADD a, b), c)` to be

We form VOPD instructions in the GCNCreateVOPD pass by combining
back-to-back component instructions. There are strict register
constraints for creating a legal VOPD, namely that the matching operands
(e.g. src0x and src0y, src1x and src1y) must be in different register
banks. We add a PostRA scheduler
mutation to put possible VOPD components back-to-back.

GFX11 has a new message type MSG_DEALLOC_VGPRS which can be used to
release a shader's VGPRs. Sending this at the end of a shader (just
before the s_endpgm) can help overall system performance in cases where
the s_endpgm would have to wait for outstanding VMEM stores to complete
before releasing the VGPRs.

Currently metadata is inserted in a late pass which is lowered
to an AssertZext. The metadata would be more useful if it was
inserted earlier after inlining, but before codegen.
Probably shouldn't change anything now. Just replacing the
late metadata annotation needs more work, since we lose
out on optimizations after these are lowered to CopyFromReg.
Seems to be slightly better than relying on the AssertZext from the
metadata. The test change in cvt_f32_ubyte.ll is a quirk from it using
-start-before=amdgpu-isel instead of running the usual codegen
pipeline.
Note that GlobalISel does not actually use the SVS addressing mode
for these cases yet because it chooses the VGPR bank for
G_FRAME_INDEX; see the TODO comment in
AMDGPURegisterBankInfo::getInstrMapping.
