Debugify is extremely useful as a testing and debugging tool, and a good
number of LLVM-IR transform tests use it. We need it to support "new"
non-instruction debug-info to get test coverage, but it's not important
enough to completely convert right now (and it'd be a large
undertaking). Thus: convert to/from dbg.value/DPValue mode on entry and
exit of the pass, which gives us the functionality without any further
work. The cost is compile-time, but again this is only happening during
tests.
Tested by: the large set of debugify tests enabled here. Note the
InstCombine test (cast-mul-select.ll) that hasn't been fully enabled:
this is because there's a debug-info sinking piece of code there that
hasn't been instrumented.
Another step towards getting rid of dependencies to the legacy
pass manager.
Primary change here is to just do -passes=foo instead of -foo in
simple situations (when running a single transform pass). But also
updated a few test running multiple passes.
Also removed some "duplicated" RUN lines in a few tests that where
using both -foo and -passes=foo syntax. No need to do the same kind
of testing twice.
As it's causing some bot failures (and per request from kbarton).
This reverts commit r358543/ab70da07286e618016e78247e4a24fcb84077fda.

InstCombine has a cast transform that matches a cast-of-select:
Orig = cast (Src = select Cond TV FV)
And tries to replace it with a select which has the cast folded in:
NewSel = select Cond (cast TV) (cast FV)
The combiner does RAUW(Orig, NewSel), so any debug values for Orig would
survive the transform. But debug values for Src would be lost.
This patch teaches InstCombine to replace all debug uses of Src with
NewSel (taking care of doing any necessary DIExpression rewriting).

The replaceAllDbgUsesWith utility helps passes preserve debug info when
replacing one value with another.
This improves upon the existing insertReplacementDbgValues API by:
- Updating debug intrinsics in-place, while preventing use-before-def of
the replacement value.
- Falling back to salvageDebugInfo when a replacement can't be made.
- Moving the responsibiliy for rewriting llvm.dbg.* DIExpressions into
common utility code.
Along with the API change, this teaches replaceAllDbgUsesWith how to
create DIExpressions for three basic integer and pointer conversions:
- The no-op conversion. Applies when the values have the same width, or
have bit-for-bit compatible pointer representations.
- Truncation. Applies when the new value is wider than the old one.
- Zero/sign extension. Applies when the new value is narrower than the
old one.
Testing:
- check-llvm, check-clang, a stage2 `-g -O3` build of clang,
regression/unit testing.
- This resolves a number of mis-sized dbg.value diagnostics from
Debugify.

Setting the "Debug Info Version" module flag makes it possible to pipe
synthetic debug info into llc, which is useful for testing backends.

We already try to salvage debug values from no-op bitcasts and inttoptr
instructions: we should handle ptrtoint instructions as well.
This saves an additional 24,444 debug values in a stage2 build of clang,
and (according to llvm-dwarfdump --statistics) provides an additional
289 unique source variables.
llvm-svn: 324982
Here are the number of additional debug values salvaged in a stage2
build of clang:
63 SALVAGE: MUL
1250 SALVAGE: SDIV
(No values were salvaged from `srem` instructions in this experiment,
but it's a simple case to handle so we might as well.)

Here are the number of additional debug values salvaged in a stage2
build of clang:
1912 SALVAGE: ASHR
405 SALVAGE: LSHR
249 SALVAGE: SHL

A cast from A to B is eliminable if its result is casted to C, and if
the pair of casts could just be expressed as a single cast. E.g here,
%c1 is eliminable:
%c1 = zext i16 %A to i32
%c2 = sext i32 %c1 to i64
InstCombine optimizes away eliminable casts. This patch teaches it to
insert a dbg.value intrinsic pointing to the final result, so that local
variables pointing to the eliminable result are preserved.
