AMDGPU normally spills SGPRs to VGPRs. Previously, since all register
classes are handled at the same time, this was problematic. We don't
know ahead of time how many registers will be needed to be reserved to
handle the spilling. If no VGPRs were left for spilling, we would have
to try to spill to memory. If the spilled SGPRs were required for exec
mask manipulation, it is highly problematic because the lanes active
at the point of spill are not necessarily the same as at the restore
point.
Avoid this problem by fully allocating SGPRs in a separate regalloc
run from VGPRs. This way we know the exact number of VGPRs needed, and
can reserve them for a second run. This fixes the most serious
issues, but it is still possible using inline asm to make all VGPRs
unavailable. Start erroring in the case where we ever would require
memory for an SGPR spill.
This is implemented by giving each regalloc pass a callback which
reports if a register class should be handled or not. A few passes
need some small changes to deal with leftover virtual registers.
In the AMDGPU implementation, a new pass is introduced to take the
place of PrologEpilogInserter for SGPR spills emitted during the first
run.
One disadvantage of this is currently StackSlotColoring is no longer
used for SGPR spills. It would need to be run again, which will
require more work.
Error if the standard -regalloc option is used. Introduce new separate
-sgpr-regalloc and -vgpr-regalloc flags, so the two runs can be
controlled individually. PBQB is not currently supported, so this also
prevents using the unhandled allocator.
I met some code generation behavior change when I tried to remove
the hasStackObject() check when reserving VGPR for SGPR spill.
For example, the function `callee_no_stack_no_fp_elim_all` in the lit
test file `callee-frame-setup.ll`.
The generated code changed from:
```
s_waitcnt vmcnt(0) expcnt(0) lgkmcnt(0)
s_mov_b32 s4, s33
s_mov_b32 s33, s32
s_mov_b32 s33, s4
s_setpc_b64 s[30:31]
```
into something like:
```
s_waitcnt vmcnt(0) expcnt(0) lgkmcnt(0)
v_writelane_b32 v63, s33, 0
s_mov_b32 s33, s32
v_readlane_b32 s33, v63, 0
s_setpc_b64 s[30:31]
```
I think we still prefer the old version where only scalar instructions are needed.
The idea here is free the reserved VGPR if no SGPR spills. So we will very likely
to use a free SGPR for fp/sp spill.

As we may overwrite inactive lanes of a caller-save-vgpr, we should
always save/restore the reserved vgpr for sgpr spill.

AMDGPU target tries to handle the SGPR and VGPR spills in a
custom pass before the actual frame lowering pass. Once they
are handled and the respective frames are eliminated in the
custom pass, certain uses of them still remain. For instance,
the DBG_VALUE instructions inserted by the allocator alongside
the spill instruction will use the corresponding frame index.
They become dead later during PEI and causes a crash while trying to
replace the frame indices. We should possibly avoid this custom pass.
For now, replacing such dead references with null register value.

We need to avoid setting the kill flag on the CSR spill if there's an
additional use of the register after the spill.
This does rely on consistency between the entry block liveins and the
MRI's function live ins, which is not something the verifier checks
now.
Add a calling convention called amdgpu_gfx for real function calls
within graphics shaders. For the moment, this uses the same calling
convention as other calls in amdgpu, with registers excluded for return
address, stack pointer and stack buffer descriptor.

Update logic for reserving VGPR for SGPR spills. A CSR VGPR being reserved for
SGPR spills could be clobbered if there were no free lower VGPR's available.
Create a stack object so that it will be spilled in the prologue. Also

Future patch needs some of these in multiple places.
The definitions of these can't be in the header and be eligible for
inlining without making the full declaration of GCNSubtarget visible.
I'm not sure what the right trade-off is, but I opted to not bloat

These are needed as a counterpart for VGPR subregs even though
there are no scalar instructions which can operate 16 bit values.
When we are materializing a constant that is done into an SGPR
and that SGPR may/will be copied into a 16 bit VGPR subreg. Such
copy is illegal. There are also similar problems if a source
operand of a 16 bit VALU instruction is an SGPR. In addition
we need to get a register with a lo16 subregister of an SGPR
RC during selection and this fails as well.
All of that makes me believe we need these subregisters as a
syntactic glue.

This file lists every pass in LLVM, and is included by Pass.h, which is
very popular. Every time we add, remove, or rename a pass in LLVM, it
caused lots of recompilation.
I found this fact by looking at this table, which is sorted by the
number of times a file was changed over the last 100,000 git commits
multiplied by the number of object files that depend on it in the
current checkout:
recompiles touches affected_files header
342380 95 3604 llvm/include/llvm/ADT/STLExtras.h
314730 234 1345 llvm/include/llvm/InitializePasses.h

This is split out from my patches to split register allocation into a
separate SGPR and VGPR phase, and has some parts that aren't yet used
(like maintaining LiveIntervals).
This simplifies making the frame pointer register callee saved. As it
is now, the code to determine callee saves needs to predict all the
possible SGPR spills and how many callee saved VGPRs are needed. By
handling this before PrologEpilogInserter, it's possible to just check
the spill objects that already exist.
