[AMDGPU][Attributor] Make AAAMDFlatWorkGroupSize honor existing attribute (#114357)
If a function has `amdgpu-flat-work-group-size`, honor it in `initialize` by
taking its value directly; otherwise, it uses the default range as a starting
point. We will no longer manipulate the known range, which can cause issues
because the known range is a "throttle" to the assumed range such that the
assumed range can't get widened properly in `updateImpl` if the known range is
not set properly for whatever reasons. Another benefit of not touching the known
range is, if we indicate pessimistic state, it also invalidates the AA such that
`manifest` will not be called. Since we honor the attribute, we don't want and
will not add any half-baked attribute added to a function.

[AMDGPU] Move AMDGPUAttributorPass to full LTO post link stage (#102086)
Currently `AMDGPUAttributorPass` is registered in default optimizer
pipeline.
This will allow the pass to run in default pipeline as well as at
thinLTO post
link stage. However, it will not run in full LTO post link stage. This
patch
moves it to full LTO.

[InstCombine] Recognize copysign idioms (#101324)
This patch folds `(bitcast (or (and (bitcast X to int), signmask), nneg
Y) to fp)` into `copysign((bitcast Y to fp), X)`. I found this pattern
exists in some graphics applications/math libraries.

Drop the -O3 checks from default-attributes.hip. I don't know why they
are different on some bots but reverting this is far too disruptive.

AMDGPU: Move attributor into optimization pipeline (#83131)
Removing it from the codegen pipeline induces a lot of test churn
because llc is no longer optimizing out implicit arguments to kernels.

Mostly mechanical, but there are some creative test updates. I preferred
to take the changes as-is in tests where the ABI isn't relevant. In
cases where it's more relevant, or the optimize out logic was too
ingrained in the test, I pre-run the optimization. Some cases manually
add attributes to disable inputs.

AMDGPU: Emit 1/llvm.sqrt(x) instead of rsqrt calls in libcall handling (#92863)
With the contract flag we should end up codegening to the rsqrt
instruction, or denormal corrected rsqrt sequence present in the
library.

This patch relands https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/86409.

I mistakenly thought that `Known.makeNegative()` clears the sign bit of
`Known.Zero`. This patch fixes the assertion failure by explicitly
clearing the sign bit.

AMDGPU: Replace sqrt OpenCL libcalls with llvm.sqrt (#74197)
The library implementation is just a wrapper around a call to the
intrinsic, but loses metadata. Swap out the call site to the intrinsic
so that the lowering can see the !fpmath metadata and fast math flags.

Since d56e0d07cc5ee8e334fd1ad403eef0b1a771384f, clang started placing
!fpmath on OpenCL library sqrt calls. Also don't bother emitting
native_sqrt anymore, it's just another wrapper around llvm.sqrt.

a70006c4c5 AMDGPU: Replace some libcalls with intrinsics
OpenCL loses fast math information by going through libcall wrappers
around intrinsics.

Do this to preserve call site flags which are lost when inlining. It's
not safe in general to propagate flags during inline, so avoid dealing
with this by just special casing some of the useful calls.

The comment was out of date, the device libs build does provide all
the pointer overloads. An extremely pedantic interpretation of the
spec would suggest only the flat version exists, but the overloads do
exist in the implementation.

6dbd458128 AMDGPU: Remove pointless libcall optimization of fma/mad
After the library is linked and trivially inlined, the generic fma and
fmuladd intrinsics already handle these cases, and with precise flag
handling. This was requiring all fast math flags when we really just
need nsz for the fma(a, b, 0) case.

6448d5ba58 AMDGPU: Remove pointless libcall recognition of native_{divide|recip}
This was trying to constant fold these calls, and also turn some of
them into a regular fmul/fdiv. There's no point to doing that, the
underlying library implementation should be using those in the first
place. Even when the library does use the rcp intrinsics, the backend
handles constant folding of those. This was also only performing the
folds under overly strict fast-evertyhing-is-required conditions.

The one possible plus this gained over linking in the library is if
you were using all fast math flags, it would propagate them to the new
instructions. We could address this in the library by adding more fast
math flags to the native implementations.

The constant fold case also had no test coverage.

304f1d59ca [IR] Switch everything to use memory attribute
This switches everything to use the memory attribute proposed in
https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-unify-memory-effect-attributes/65579.
The old argmemonly, inaccessiblememonly and inaccessiblemem_or_argmemonly
attributes are dropped. The readnone, readonly and writeonly attributes
are restricted to parameters only.

The old attributes are auto-upgraded both in bitcode and IR.
The bitcode upgrade is a policy requirement that has to be retained
indefinitely. The IR upgrade is mainly there so it's not necessary
to update all tests using memory attributes in this patch, which
is already large enough. We could drop that part after migrating
tests, or retain it longer term, to make it easier to import IR
from older LLVM versions.

High-level Function/CallBase APIs like doesNotAccessMemory() or
setDoesNotAccessMemory() are mapped transparently to the memory
attribute. Code that directly manipulates attributes (e.g. via
AttributeList) on the other hand needs to switch to working with
the memory attribute instead.

bfb9b8e075 [Passes] add a tail-call-elim pass near the end of the opt pipeline
We call tail-call-elim near the beginning of the pipeline,
but that is too early to annotate calls that get added later.

In the motivating case from issue #47852, the missing 'tail'
on memset leads to sub-optimal codegen.

I experimented with removing the early instance of
tail-call-elim instead of just adding another pass, but that
appears to be slightly worse for compile-time:
+0.15% vs. +0.08% time.
"tailcall" shows adding the pass; "tailcall2" shows moving
the pass to later, then adding the original early pass back
(so 1596886802 is functionally equivalent to 180b0439dc ):

Note that there was an effort to split the tail call functionality
into 2 passes - that could help reduce compile-time if we find

dd985551c2 Reapply "[InferAttributes] Materialize all infered attributes for declaration"" and follow on patches.
This reverts commit ab98f2c7129a52e216fd7e088b964cf4af27b0f2 and 98eea392cdbcdb7360e58b46e9329573f092cd96.

It includes a fix for the clang test which triggered the revert.  I failed to notice this one because there was another AMDGPU llvm test with a similiar name and the exact same text in the error message.  Odd.  Since only one build bot reported the clang test, I didn't notice that one.

9abc457724 [NewPM][AMDGPU] Port amdgpu-simplifylib/amdgpu-usenative
And add them to the pipeline via
AMDGPUTargetMachine::registerPassBuilderCallbacks(), which mirrors
AMDGPUTargetMachine::adjustPassManager().

These passes can't be unconditionally added to PassRegistry.def since
they are only present when the AMDGPU backend is enabled. And there are
no target-specific headers in llvm/include, so parsing these pass names
must occur somewhere in the AMDGPU directory. I decided the best place
was inside the TargetMachine, since the PassBuilder invokes
TargetMachine::registerPassBuilderCallbacks() anyway. If we come up with
a cleaner solution for target-specific passes in the future that's fine,
but there aren't too many target-specific IR passes living in
target-specific directories so it shouldn't be too bad to change in the
future.

b963c5150d [AMDGPU] Fix discarded result of addAttribute
Summary:
`llvm::AttributeList` and `llvm::AttributeSet` are immutable, and so methods
defined on these classes, such as `addAttribute`, return a new immutable
object with the attribute added. In https://reviews.llvm.org/D55217 I attempted
to annotate methods such as `addAttribute` with `LLVM_NODISCARD`, since
calling these methods has no side-effects, and so ignoring the result
that is returned is almost certainly a programmer error.

However, committing the change resulted in new warnings in the AMDGPU target.
The AMDGPU simplify libcalls pass added in https://reviews.llvm.org/D36436
attempts to add the readonly and nounwind attributes to simplified
library functions, but instead calls the `addAttribute` methods and
ignores the result.

Modify the simplify libcalls pass to actually add the nounwind and
readonly attributes. Also update the simplify libcalls test to assert
that these attributes are actually being set.

0d9673cff2 [AMDGPU] Remove hardcoded address space value from AMDGPULibFunc
AMDGPULibFunc hardcodes address space values of the old address space mapping,
which causes invalid addrspacecast instructions and undefined functions in
APPSDK sample MonteCarloAsianDP.

This patch fixes that.

312c557b3b [AMDGPU] Fix regression in AMDGPULibCalls allowing native for doubles
Under -cl-fast-relaxed-math we could use native_sqrt, but f64 was
allowed to produce HSAIL's nsqrt instruction. HSAIL is not here
and we stick with non-existing native_sqrt(double) as a result.

Add check for f64 to not return native functions and also remove
handling of f64 case for fold_sqrt.

7f37794ebd [AMDGPU] Ported and adopted AMDLibCalls pass
The pass does simplifications of well known AMD library calls.
If given -amdgpu-prelink option it works in a pre-link mode which
allows to reference new library functions which will be linked in
later.

In addition it also used to process traditional AMD option
-fuse-native which allows to replace some of the functions with
their fast native implementations from the library.

The necessary glue to pass the prelink option and translate
-fuse-native is to be added to the driver.
