[mlir] split transform interfaces into a separate library (#85221)
Transform interfaces are implemented, direction or via extensions, in
libraries belonging to multiple other dialects. Those dialects don't
need to depend on the non-interface part of the transform dialect, which
includes the growing number of ops and transitive dependency footprint.

Split out the interfaces into a separate library. This in turn requires
flipping the dependency from the interface on the dialect that has crept
in because both co-existed in one library. The interface shouldn't
depend on the transform dialect either.

As a consequence of splitting, the capability of the interpreter to
automatically walk the payload IR to identify payload ops of a certain
kind based on the type used for the entry point symbol argument is
disabled. This is a good move by itself as it simplifies the interpreter
logic. This functionality can be trivially replaced by a
`transform.structured.match` operation.

[mlir][vector][gpu] Align minf/maxf reduction kind names with arith (#75901)
This is to avoid confusion when dealing with reduction/combining kinds.
For example, see a recent PR comment:
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/pull/75846#discussion_r1430722175.

Previously, they were picked to mostly mirror the names of the llvm
vector reduction intrinsics:
https://llvm.org/docs/LangRef.html#llvm-vector-reduce-fmin-intrinsic. In
isolation, it was not clear if `<maxf>` has `arith.maxnumf` or
`arith.maximumf` semantics. The new reduction kind names map 1:1 to
arith ops, which makes it easier to tell/look up their semantics.

Because both the vector and the gpu dialect depend on the arith dialect,
it's more natural to align names with those in arith than with the
lowering to llvm intrinsics.

[mlir] use transform-interpreter in test passes (#70040)
Update most test passes to use the transform-interpreter pass instead of
the test-transform-dialect-interpreter-pass. The new "main" interpreter
pass has a named entry point instead of looking up the top-level op with
`PossibleTopLevelOpTrait`, which is arguably a more understandable
interface. The change is mechanical, rewriting an unnamed sequence into
a named one and wrapping the transform IR in to a module when necessary.

Add an option to the transform-interpreter pass to target a tagged
payload op instead of the root anchor op, which is also useful for repro
generation.

Only the test in the transform dialect proper and the examples have not
been updated yet. These will be updated separately after a more careful
consideration of testing coverage of the transform interpreter logic.

[mlir][vector] add result type to vector.extract assembly format (#66499)
The vector.extract assembly format currently only contains the source
type, for example:

  %1 = vector.extract %0[1] : vector<3x7x8xf32>

it's not immediately obvious if this is the source or result type. This
patch improves the assembly format to make this clearer, so the above
becomes:

  %1 = vector.extract %0[1] : vector<7x8xf32> from vector<3x7x8xf32>

[mlir][arith] Rename operations: maxfmaximumf, minfminimumf (#65800)
This patch is part of a larger initiative aimed at fixing floating-point `max` and `min` operations in MLIR: https://discourse.llvm.org/t/rfc-fix-floating-point-max-and-min-operations-in-mlir/72671.

This commit addresses Task 1.2 of the mentioned RFC. By renaming these operations, we align their names with LLVM intrinsics that have corresponding semantics.

1826c728cf [mlir][transform] SequenceOp: Top-level operations can be used as matchers
As a convenience to the user, top-level sequence ops can optionally be used as matchers: the op type is specified by the type of the block argument.

This is similar to how pass pipeline targets can be specified on the command line (`-pass-pipeline='builtin.module(func.func(...))`).

726d076784 [mlir][transform] ApplyPatternsOp: Add check to prevent modifying the transform IR
Add an extra check to make sure that transform IR is not getting modified by this op while it is being interpreted. This generally dangerous and we may want to enforce this for all transform ops that modify the payload in the future.

Users should generally try to apply patterns only to the piece of IR where it is needed (e.g., a matched function) and not the entire module (which may contain the transform IR).

This revision is in response to a crash in a downstream compiler that was caused by a dead `transform.structured.match` op that was removed by the GreedyPatternRewriteDriver's DCE while the enclosing sequence was being interpreted.

976d25ed9e [mlir][vector] Use transform.apply_patterns in vector tests
All vector transform ops are now `PatternDescriptorOpInterface` ops that merely select the patterns. The patterns are applied by the `apply_patterns` op. This is to ensure that ops are properly tracked. (TrackingListener is used in the implementation of `apply_patterns`.) Furthermore, handles are no longer invalidated when applying patterns in the vector tests.

9813c184f7 [mlir] NFC: use !transform.any_op in relevant tests
Update various tests using Transform dialect extensions to pervasively
use `!transform.any_op` instead of `!pdl.operation`. Tests are sometimes
used as source of knowledge for best practices and these were doing the
opposite of what is considered best practices per

8b51340740 [mlir][Vector][Transforms] Improve the control over individual vector lowerings and transforms
This revision adds vector transform operations that allow us to better inspect the composition
of various lowerings that were previously very opaque.

This commit is NFC in that it does not change patterns beyond adding `rewriter.notifyFailure` messages
and it does not change the tests beyond breaking them into pieces and using transforms instead of
throwaway opaque test passes.

051b36ba28 [mlir][vector] Add accumulator operand to MultiDimReduce op
This allows vectorizing linalg reductions without changing the operation
order. Therefore this produce a valid vectorization even if operations
are not associative.

9cfd8d7c6c [mlir][Vector] Avoid infinite loop in InnerOuterDimReductionConversion.
This patterns tries to convert an inner (outer) dim reduction to an
outer (inner) dim reduction. Doing this on a 1D or 0D vector results
in an infinite loop since the converted op is same as the original
operation. Just returning failure when source rank <= 1 fixes the
issue.

eaf2588a51 [mlir][Linalg] Add support for min/max reduction vectorization in linalg.generic
This patch extends Linalg core vectorization with support for min/max reductions
in linalg.generic ops. It enables the reduction detection for min/max combiner ops.
It also renames MIN/MAX combining kinds to MINS/MAXS to make the sign explicit for
floating point and signed integer types. MINU/MAXU should be introduce din the future
for unsigned integer types.

e33f301ec2 [mlir] Add support for moving reductions to outer most dimensions in vector.multi_reduction
The approach for handling reductions in the outer most
dimension follows that for inner most dimensions, outlined
below

First, transpose to move reduction dims, if needed
Convert reduction from n-d to 2-d canonical form
Then, for outer reductions, we emit the appropriate op
(add/mul/min/max/or/and/xor) and combine the results.
